Trump: Obama 'Isn't Doing Anything in Middle East'
Newsmax ^

Posted on 01/30/2011 10:47:21 PM PST by tsowellfan

In his exclusive interview with Newsmax, billionaire Donald Trump insists the United States must find a better way to deal with the dangers posed by the oil cartel OPEC.

“I think it’s unfair. I think it’s illegal,” he declares. “If you have a store and I have a store and we collude and set prices, we go to jail.

“Here you have 12 men, in this case all men, they sit around a table and they set the price of oil.

“Abu Dhabi, which has plenty of oil, just went to all natural gas for transportation because they want to sell us the oil at exorbitant prices. When you tell me about Obama and what he’s doing in the Middle East, I don’t think he’s doing anything in the Middle East.

“We have to do something about OPEC because that’s the life blood of the country.”

Isn’t this the guy who gave $50,000 to Rahm to help him run for mayor?

I’m curious how many people on FR would support Mr. Trump if he were to run.

What makes Obama such a complete moron is that if he hadn’t done the stimulus or health care and went straight to pushing the US towards energy independence on all fronts, using all the resources at our disposal, he probably would be extremely popular and not hated so much, even though there are folks who will hate him no matter what.

But as a political strategy, it would have been smart.

I don’t think Trump is electable, but he is the only potential candidate I have seen so far who wouldn’t sell this country down the river and I respect him for that.

Trump might be my default candidate if the rest of the GOP candidates support the free traitors, the neo-cons, and the open borders crowd.

He’s a moron and unclear on the concept of “illegal”.

Trump? The only thing he could do is make Newt look slightly better by comparison.

Just watched the entire video. Would depend on who else is running in the primaries. Would I support him over Obama? Absolutely. Based on my overall awareness of him, I would consider him in the primaries, but would hope we could do better.

In Obama’s defense, he is doing something: giving the Islamists political cover for a takeover.

The way I see it: If he supported Obama, he isn’t doing so now. It’s one thing to give someone a chance. It’s another thing to stick by that person when he utterly fails. So if Mr. Trump DID support Obama it could have been a case of “let’s see what he can do,” but now that the gamble has failed Mr. Trump sees things differently.

I’ve been there. I understand. Never supported Obama, but it’s happened in other cases.

On his China stance alone he is worth consideration. There is one thing you can say about Trump. He gets things done on time and under budget. Four years of that my be what the country needs. Just look at how he took charge of the Wollman ice skating rink from NYC. He turned it around and made a profit.

Obama planted the seed of this tragic Islamic drivin power grab that is going to make Egypt the equivalent of Carter's Iran, with his typical blame US fortay.

TRANSCRIPT: Remarks of President Obama in Cairo Second paragraph:

We meet at a time of tension between the United States and Muslims around the world - tension rooted in historical forces that go beyond any current policy debate. The relationship between Islam and the West includes centuries of co-existence and cooperation, but also conflict and religious wars. More recently, tension has been fed by colonialism that denied rights and opportunities to many Muslims, and a Cold War in which Muslim-majority countries were too often treated as proxies without regard to their own aspirations. Moreover, the sweeping change brought by modernity and globalization led many Muslims to view the West as hostile to the traditions of Islam.

A shrewd businessman may be EXACTLY what this country needs. And despite his love of profit, I am not inclined to believe he would sell the country for a dollar. I think he can see how that would be a losing deal in the end.

Is he electable? It’s hard to say. But at this point I’ll take Mr. Trump over Obama. We’ll see who the other options are when the time comes.

I forgot to add that this would be our first lady until she "aged out". Melania Knauss-Trump. Better than Michelle my Bell any day.

If it's Trump vs Obama or the Hildebeest or anyone else with a D after their name, no contest, obviously.

But first the clown needs to win the nomination!

Don't get me wrong, I can't stand Obozo BUT, how in hell would Trump know what he is doing or not doing.

At least our first lady wouldn’t look like such an absolute heifer next to the French first lady.

Trump was an idiot to even suppport him, shows the sort of gambler he is. He always bets on the wrong things and people, look at his marital history.
