Even prisoners have a right to their birth certificate. I wonder if the Brits will send the map along with the documents of incarceration.
Meanwhile, New Zealand joined with Australia, saying of the map, bring it baa-aaa-aaack. And in the U.S., Obama said if I can return a bust of Churchill to the U.K, the U.K. can give up a map.
Isn’t Australia still technically part of the British Empire with tacit alliegience to the queen and a governor general appointed by London and all that pro-forma silliness? Like Burmuda with more say-so over foreign affairs?
I don’t recall the Australian government declaring a republic, but maybe I missed something.
To my Aussie friends, help educate me on this point.
I hiked the Flinders Range in 1983. Way to many bush flies, so I got a mosquito net hat to keep them off my face, but it was too bloody hot to be comfortable.
Still enjoyed it; pretty views, rugged wilderness.
