Obama's first call for national moment of silence in first term
Washington Times Water Cooler Blog ^ | 1/10/11 | Kerry Picket

As a result of a deranged gunman’s deadly shooting that critically wounded Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, Arizona Democrat, and killed six others including: her aide, a federal judge, and a nine-year old girl in Tucson, President Barack Obama called for and led a moment of silence at 11 a.m. on Monday.

This appears to be the first moment of silence for a national tragedy called for by the President himself since he took office. Calls to the the White House Office of Public Engagement to confirm this since late last night were not returned as of this posting.

Obama is without peer at ‘leading’ people to do absolutely...nothing.

Why wasn’t it done on behalf of the Ft. Hood military victims? Nevermind.

The poster for some reason left out the point of the article;

A moment of silence was called for by Defense Secretary Robert Gates to honor the 13 killed and 30 wounded at the Fort Hood Military Base in 2009. However, the moment of silence remained limited to the Department of Defense. Political expediency to advance the yelling for Gun grabbing, silence on Moose Limb murderers of our troops IN AMERICA.

No moment of silence after the shooting at Fort Hood by a Muslim but we have one here because? Well, perhaps because its an opportunity for Obama to politicize this from a lot of levels:
1, Attack GOP
2. Move for more gun control
3. Top down bottom up stuff that Beck has been talking about.
I find his whole behavior as President as morally reprehensible.

Why indeed. If the shooter was a convert to the R.O.P. or the vic was a conservative expect a whole lot of nothing from Barry. I hate to think that way but I don't trust anything Hussein does.

Let's not forget -- the Left which was CERTAIN this shooter was a right-wing nut job is the same Left that called for calm and said we shouldn't jump to conclusions over the Ft. Hood shooter who WAS a Muslim....

I'm convinced: that part of a person's brain that tells a person they are a hypocrite does not exist in the brains of the Left.

That’s a hoot, Obama asking for a moment of silence. We’ve been praying for one from him for over two years now.

When do the 75 or so Americans killed yesterday, and to be killed today and tomorrow, by illegal aliens get their moments of silence?

FUBO!

Rush Limbaugh is laying out the details of the politicization of the Arizona tragedy right now.

Summary of introduction:

Some day, the left will finally get their wish...groups are large, and with any large group there are deranged peoeple like this kid. This kid is just a nut, but they have done their best to establish a ground for furthering their agenda, such as with gun control. Somewhere in a FCC desk in Washington is a plan to deminish free speech rights for the internet and talk radio, exploiting a false crisis from tragedy.

The left seeks to revitalize themselves using this tragedy in Arizona. They want to use the crisis to shut down the tea party movement, linking Sarah Palin to the tragic activity of a nut? America does not buy it even for a moment. There is no logic in the assertions they make. Making utter fools of themselves.

The left engages in the behaviour they accuse the right of. I will be playing audio excerpts today showing this.

My wife and I have been observing “moments of silence” since the moment we learned of the shooting.

We started nearly 4 hours before Obama pulled himself away from the playoff games. We again observed a “moment of silence” (prayed) soon after getting out of bed this morning.

Obama will not, has not and NEVER will lead me to do ANYTHING.

I don’t see a problem with this. A member of Congress was shot, nearly killed, and we don’t know the full extent of the damage yet. A federal judge was killed and a number of other people too.

I think we should universally condemn what took place, and the demonstration of sorrow and respect from House members and employees on the steps feeds that take on things.

This is not inappropriate action from my perspective.

I’m a Conservative guy, and I’m very sorry to see this member of Congress gunned down. I’m also very sorry to see the others killed and injured. Terrible...

I don’t recall a moment of silence for the 13 people gunned down at Ft Hood. Or for any other mass murders perpetrated by a lunatic.

Or of him and wookie leading a moment of silence on 9-11 either. Oh wait that’s a national day of servitude...err, service... now.

The President appeared at a memorial for the troops killed at Ft. Hood. He brought his own cheering squad of groupies who proceeded to cheer when he got up to speak.

This is a man devoid of a soul or for that matter even a modicum of intelligence or common sense.
