On Fox News, Megyn Kelly interviewed the man in charge of the Arizona shooting investigation, Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik. Kelly introduced the interview saying, “it is always a difficult task to try to assign reason to an irrational act, but that is one of the things that Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik is trying to do.”
From there, Kelly was persistent, yet extremely deferential as she expressed the doubts of many who are wondering why the Sheriff is so publicly offering his speculative opinion that “vitriolic rhetoric” helped lead to the tragedy. Although the sheriff had no specific evidence of such rhetoric yet, he claimed there is “no doubt in my mind that when a number of people night and day try to inflame the public, that there’s going to be some consequences from doing that and I think it’s irresponsible to do that.”
When he also warned that “free speech is free speech but it’s not without consequences,” Kelly questioned whether it was appropriate for a sheriff to be injecting their political spin? The sheriff answered that ultimately it’s up to the viewers to decide.

It is scary that there are so many leftist Democrats like this sheriff and even Obama that have a lot more in common with the shooter than they themselves realize. There are some seriously mental wack jobs that have not come out of the woodwork, they are in places of power. In plain site. And this event has brought out their true colors.
The worst sickos on the left are the ones that scream about something that they say is wrong while doing that exact same thing themselves. Some of them have done some serious damage to this country and they should be eliminated from office. Via the ballot box. Peacefully. That is the way we do it in this country. We don't shoot people to get them out of office, we vote them out. That is what the Tea Party has been about. Bloodless change in government by following the founders rules.
The scary people are the leftists. Like the shooter who followed and LIKED the ways of the communist and was a fan of Hitler. Like them the shooter did not want to take power via the vote like the Tea Party. No, he wanted to murder to get his way. Sick!
Kelly nailed him good when he said he never seen anything like this in the past and she named JFK, RFK, and MLK. I guess he doesn’t remember the attempts on Ford and Reagan either. Sheriff what’s his name? Putznik?

I heard Shep do an interview with Patricia Maisch(sp), the woman who took the second mag from Jared Loughner. She sounded conscientious until Shep asked her what she took away from this incident, and, she pretty much blamed it on Republicans and talk radio. Well, Patricia, look in the mirror, he was one of yours.
Imho, this Sheriff is totally unprofessional and a fool.
I’ve been observing the events of the past couple of days and it certainly is a tragedy. A tragedy created by a young man who is obviously mentally ill. It looks like the good Sheriff had an inkling that this kid was a problem (has apparently lawyered up) also the parents as the perp’s former college suspended him and sent a letter asking for a mental health evaluation before he could be readmitted.
What is even more concerning, in my opinion, is the rampant stupidity and opportunism from some of the MSM, Democrats and the left - it really has been quite disgusting. Wasn’t there a movie promoting the assassination of President Bush? And I also remember the hate and threats that were a constant part of the left’s speech against Bush for eight years - far, far, worse than anything Obama or any Democrat has had to contend with. The double standard of “justice” in this country’s political landscape is laughable.
Also, if you read the comments on websites like the Huffington Post related to this tragedy you would really fear for the future of this country. The majority are completely non-factual, non-sensical emotional rants blaming the TEA Party, Sarah Palin, conservatives, guns, talk-show hosts, etc. I guess it’s to be expected on some level as the average moron is getting their information from the MSM’s stupid spin.

He was just on Geraldo and he gave him an opportunity to clarify or revise his statements on making this political and he just basically re-iterated his assumption that Sarah Palin and Sharon Angle’s comments are what provoked this guy.
What about Reagan???? This shooter has more in common with Hinckley...

This guy's a lot older than Babs, so I don't know how long he really expected to protect anyone, but he was sure trying.

I don’t think he realizes how stupid he looks. The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, one of the most liberal papers in the country, printed quotes from his spew about “rhetoric” in the morning paper, but then mentioned in the next paragraph that the shooter was a fan of the Communist Manifesto and Mein Kampf, blowing him right out of the water.
The good sheriff failed to mention this gem, but of course his focus is primarily on right wingers:

Dupnik really went off the reservation on this, but he’s done it before...remember he’s the guy who said the AZ immigration law was “stupid” and “racist” and that he had no intention of enforcing it. Sheriffs get a lot of power as long as they stay re-elected, and many like Dupnik say what they want to and don’t give a damn what anybody thinks. Including residents of his own state who he called the center of racism.
Might be time for this old fart to retire and munch kolaches.
