How do you miss at less than 1 foot distance? Was he holding the gun backwards? I thought the same but under stress strange things can happen. Years ago I almost stepped on a large water moccasin in some high grass by the river. I had a 22 in my hand with a 9 round clip. I unloaded the clip, missing with the first 8 and he dashed into the 9th while trying to get back to the water. I couldn't imagine how I missed that large snake that was right at my feet. I'm glad I didn't shoot my feet off.
