The senior American diplomat at the UN tonight defended her team after WikiLeaks disclosed a US spying operation targeting the UN's secretary-general, Ban Ki-moon, and members of the security council.
Susan Rice, the US ambassador appointed to the UN by Barack Obama last year, appeared uncomfortable and, at times, exasperated as she took questions from the media at the UN today.
She denied US diplomats were engaged in spying. "Let me be very clear: our diplomats are just that," she said. "They are diplomats. That is what they do every day. They get out and work with partners here at the UN and around the world."
Rice was questioned about a leaked US cable showing diplomats were asked to find personal financial details about the UN leadership, including credit card information, passwords for their communications systems and frequent-flier membership. Ban's office hit back at the US with a warning that any violation of UN "immunity" may breach international law.

Ban-Ki Moon is in trouble. Hillary is operating under orders from her boss who is likely to take the UN Sec-Gen job next year. In turn, he’ll put Hillary in at VP (Biden will resign/have a “health” problem or otherwise be reassigned) so she can be the Dem nominee for 2012.
And worst to all? The American electorate is fool enough to elect her. I can hear it now: “First woman president, historic...blah, blah, blah...”

It seems that Obama has made us worse in the eyes of the world than Bush ever did. He has made us the laughing stock of the world and his government looks like a bunch of paranoid meth addicts who are afraid of everyone. Even Hitler wasn’t this paranoid. Howard Dean announced he wants the government to pick the hosts on Fox News, so it can be controlled. What next??? Will republicans have to wear a star on their clothing? WTF?

P.S. Isn't it amazing that hundreds of thousands of classified documents and videos have been posted on the web, but not one of Obama's personal documents (B.C., transcripts, passports, visas ) has shown up !
As bad as this administration is, we get to throw them out, we do not get to throw out the one-worlders. We need to keep this in mind when the one-worlders try to get conservatives to back them against this administration. We need to keep in mind our sovereignty and keep in mind that we are Americans first and foremost.

This is the same woman who kept 900+ FBI files on AMERICANS in her White House quarters. Have we all forgotten how important information gathering is to Mz Clinton?
But, I would really, really like to get a look at school records, medical records and to know who paid for his education. That would be revealing and, imo, damning.

I agree with you 100%. It is the secrecy surrounding all those documents including the birth certificate that raise the questions. Don’t forget the travel to Pakistan-perhaps on an Indonesian passport.
I may not be a birther but there are many questions surrounding his birth. Was he baptised? Were his parents married? Why is there a reluctance to release the long form and so forth and so on.
I'm not sure I agree. I think it depends how she deals with the leaks.
The fact that State is probing Kirchner shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. I HOPE they're that diligent. That someone would disclose the correspondence about it is VERY disturbing.
Also, whether spooks were looking for personal passwords and the like is not as disturbing as the disclosure. At the least, there shouldn't be any way to link diplomats directly to such activity. That's plain stupid, and if Hillary! is shown to be responsible or connected, I suppose she does have bow out.
And if so, that probably drives a stake through her heart for 2012 election. Do you think BO could have done that to avoid a potential nomination challenge?
