That’s the thing. Both liberals and conservatives tend to have a healthy distrust of “the other side.”
Now if only we could ALL just learn to apply that distrust to government as a whole, regardless of whether an individual has a (D) or an (R) next to his or her name — we might actually find some common ground between us and start fixing our problems instead of making them worse while politicians in Washington play “divide and conquer” to their own benefits.

I fly frequently and after 9/11 when everyone had to start taking off their shoes and putting their liquids and gels in baggies, I would hear people in line griping away and I thought, good grief, this is a cheap price to pay if it keeps us from harm.
Now, I’m hopping mad over how far this has been taken, but it has nothing to do with a Republican or Democrat in charge. Searching my luggage, running me through a metal detector and making me spread my legs and arms while you run a wand in the air around me are not personal affronts to my modesty or dignity. Taking photos that reveal my body without clothing and putting your hands on my breasts, crotch and pulling out my pants waistband and looking in my pants(this is the enhanced patdown I got the last time I flew) crosses the line to unacceptable.
I don’t think you can characterize the reaction that the majority of conservatives/Republicans are having to this as political hypocrisy. This isn’t happening because Obama is a Democrat. This is happening because Obama is an incompetent weak leader who is controlled by greedy bastards that have him manipulating our government for their own interests. The reason we are all going through this is so that they can make money off those damned machines.
