I'm not trying to depress turnout because I'd vote over broken glass, but our government and the power that goes with it is a colossal tar baby. I'll take no joy in squashing the Deomonrats as we did in '94 because the baby needs burning and I fear the GOP won't do it. Noooooooo they won't burn the precious.

He didn't "go" anywhere. People who looked at the facts dispassionately knew exactly what he was and what would happen if he were elected and thus it came to pass. It's like the teenage girl or young adult woman who "suddenly" realizes that her family and friends were right and that her boyfriend is a creep.
