He deserves jail time for his 2004 news conference where he displayed photos purported to be of US solders raping Iraqi women. Of course the photos were a hoax, but the Boston Globe covered Turner’s conference.

The Globe reputedly lost over 3,000 subscribers (including me) due to that stunt. The reporterette told her editor that she did not think the photos were authentic, but he went ahead and published clearly indecent photos in early editions. The Globe, imho, acted with actual malice.

I had been pretty much fed up with the Globe for years, but that incident made me shake off my lethargy.
