Black Panther case reveals schism
Washington Post ^ | October 23, 2010

On Election Day 2008, Maruse Heath, the leader of Philadelphia's New Black Panther Party, stood in front of a neighborhood polling place, dressed in a paramilitary uniform.

Within hours, an amateur video showing Heath, slapping a black nightstick and exchanging words with the videographer, had aired on TV and ricocheted across the nation.

Among those who saw the footage was J. Christian Adams, who was in his office in the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division in Washington.

"I thought, 'This is wrong, this is not supposed to happen in this country,' " Adams said. "There are armed men in front of a polling place, and I need to find out if they violated the law, because in my mind there's a good chance that they did."

The actions of the black nationalist and the white lawyer have mushroomed into a fierce debate over the government's enforcement of civil rights laws - a dispute that will be aired next week when the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights unveils findings from a year-long investigation.

Why are they calling him Heath when everyone else calls him Shazam?

I thought, 'This is wrong, this is not supposed to happen in this country
But this is no longer the same country that it once was. This is 0bama's America.
Equal rights now mean some are more equal than others.
We shall overcome, though. And it begins next Tuesday.

How could there be a dispute? We all saw the same thing.

They going to say we all have lying eyes?

There is no responsible person running the DOJ at the moment, and in a few short days the party in charge is going to be given pink slips all over the country.

If that doesn’t work, Katy bar the door. It’s going to get ugly

This is one of the many issues that will be investigated by our new Congress, along (hopefully) with the impeachment and treason trial for Obama.

The schism is that the Black Panthers are the Black Ku Klux Klan...and they have enablers like racists Eric Holder and Barack Hussein Obama

Its a great article for those that have not been following the case. For those of us that have its a rehash. Still better that its printed than not.
One paragraph i need take exception with. “Coates and Adams say the case was narrowed because of opposition to filing voting-rights actions against minorities and pressure from civil rights groups, but have not cited evidence. “
One might conclude the dismissal would be all the evidence needed.

I get it. You can dress like that and carry a weapon at a polling place if you’re black, but dontcha wear a Hulk Hogan tee shirt in CT.

It always occurs to me, if they are that BADDASS, then why did they allow themselves to become slaves? I guess “give me liberty or give me death” doesn’t apply to those without honor.

"the George W. Bush administration filed a voter-intimidation lawsuit against Heath and his colleagues, even though no voters had complained."

The Washington (Com)post appears to think it''s OK to intimidate voters as long as you're effective at intimindtating them.

-------------------------------

The term 'racist' is meant to silence whites and is really about wealth and power. The power to confiscate wealth. This goes far, far beyond paying a bit more in taxes. The left wants total control.

I think we know the ideology that the president and Mr. Holder follow. The media look the other way and give them a pass on it.

Conservatives, with their belief in individuals taking care of themselves, not the state, are the enemy.

Adams and Coates bump. But watch your back Mr. Coates.

Intimadaters and fraudsters could start "disappearing"..
Like in Chile with Pinochet.. it could happen..

I'm not a lawyer, but I wonder if the states need to pass laws identical to the Federal law, but making it clear the laws will be enforced at the state level regardless of race.

The problem, obviously, is not the Federal law, but rather the people enforcing the law.

SEAN HANNITY: But Reverend Jeremiah Wright is not backing down and has not for years and in his strong stance on the teaching of black liberation theology is nothing new. He had the same things to say last spring when he appeared on "Hannity & Colmes:"

WRIGHT: If you're not going to talk about theology in context, if you're not going to talk about liberation theology that came out of the '60s, systematized black liberation theology that started with Jim Cone in 1968 and the writings of Cone and the writings of Dwight Hopkins and the writings of womynist theologians and Asian theologians and Hispanic theologians, then you can't talk about the black value system.

HANNITY: But I'm a — reverend

WRIGHT: Do you know liberation theology, sir?
