I graduated in 2002 and moved back home with mom. Work wasn’t falling into my lap, so I worked for a family member for a few months until I found a contract job.

This statistic is nothing new. I don’t personally know many college grads who go right into a full-time job after college unless they’re engineers or educators.

I had a full time job, but it paid so little (actually less than I made my senior year IN college) that I couldn’t afford to move out for a year.

engineers, educators (especially bilingual ones), nurses, and accountants get jobs very easy and are recruited heavily still.
