IIRC, “de minimus” has a legal meaning which translates to “too unimportant to be worthy of notice”.

The Judge also was kind in his indirect references to the circus that would ensue if any more efforts were expended on “the case of those who dumped in the woods”.

And what i would hope is a federal judge would rule that the carbon dioxide human beings contribute to the atmosphere is: de minimus.

oh well. i was trying to make a joke.
