Two new polls, both done by Republican-leaning organizations show, Republican Ruth McClung and Democrat U.S. Rep. Raúl Grijalva are neck-and-neck in the race for Arizonas Congressional District 7.
Both polls indicate Republican McClung is within the margin of error of the Democrat.
In a Magellan Data and Mapping Strategies poll conducted in the last week of September, 40 percent of poll respondents said they would vote for Grijalva and 38 percent said they would vote for McClung.
Another 5 percent said theyd vote for independent candidate Harley Meyer, 4 percent said theyd vote for Libertarian George Keane and 13 percent were undecided.
The poll also asked participants who they would vote for if party was the only question.
If the election for Congress was being held today, and all you knew about the two candidates was that one was a Democrat, and the other was a Republican, for whom would you vote?
The answers were 46 percent for the Democrat, 40 percent for the Republican and 14 percent undecided.
The margin of error is 3.74 percent. Magellan has done polling in the past two years for a slate of Republican candidates including Illinois Sen. Mark Kirk, U.S. Senate candidate Ken Bucks from Colorado, and former New Mexico Governor candidate Doug Turner.
INVERSE RESULTS
In a separate Phoenix-based Summit Consulting Group poll done last week, 1,807 likely general election voters were asked whether they planned on supporting Grijalva, McClung, or were still undecided. This poll also had the candidates separated by two percent, but McClung had the lead with 39 percent of the votes, Grijalva 37 percent, and 24 percent remained undecided.
The margin of error is 3 percent.

I should point out that the guy she is running against called for a boycott of his own state after the passed the anti-illegal immigration law, and that she has done this all with about $16,000 cash on hand according to Ace: http://ace.mu.nu/

It’s still amazing. This is the equivalent of Rangel being behind or tied in Harlem.
Americans in Tucson are stunned that he ended up in Washington.
Might as well have sent Goebbels to Tel Aviv.
Hopefully the turnout for Republicans (Hello Tea Party) will make the difference!
Grijalva sickens me. I was happy to donate to Ruth’s campaign today. Spread the word to all the patriots on your email list. Grijalva has got to go.
Ruth is very low key, but very smart. She stays on message, and is indefatigable in a district that spreads for hundreds of miles along the Arizona-Mexico border. Grijalva is a Marxist (not just saying this, he is!), and is included in the handful of the most important and fanatical far-leftists in the Democrat Party.
The Dem hear is one of 70 Dem congress critters listed by the Democratic socialists of America as a member of that group.
