A mushrooming political battle over ObamaCare involving the White House, two incumbent Pennsylvania congressmen, three Catholic hospitals and a nun has just exploded in, of all places, Scranton, Pennsylvania. Charges from the Scranton medical community of intimidation by the Obama White House and its allies are filling the air. All of this just as Vice President Joe Biden arrives in Scranton today to raise money for one of the participants.
There are two issues at the core of the controversy. 1. ObamaCare and the sale of three Scranton-area Catholic hospitals. 2. The re-election prospects of the two House members, Democrats Paul Kanjorski and Chris Carney, both of whom cast key votes to pass ObamaCare.

I remember having some extended family members who were Catholic nuns. Scranton, PA was sort of like their Pentagon.
No doubt they are outraged that Obamacare is going to force them to choose between getting out of the healthcare business or performing abortions.
On the other hand the DUmmycrats are probably thinking that word of this won’t carry much beyond Wilkes-Barre or Hazleton.
Small rural hospitals all over the country are going to be driven out of business by Obamacare.

The first ones will be those who sqwak about its terms, such as abortion.
This is why repealing Obamacare is my number 1 issue. If a candidate is not a 100% lock-solid vote for the repeal of Obamacare, I will not vote for him, no matter what. The quote in the article from the doctor, about hospitals closing, is exactly what many of us knew was going to happen, and shazam, it’s happening. If you take away the profit motive, why be in the medical business? Supply dries up, and now we wait in line for months and months, for routine medical care.
If Obamacare is not repealed, I conservatively estimate I will die 10 years sooner than I would have otherwise.
Scranton,Wilke-Barre and Hazleton were great places to grow-up.Large parts are now s***holes thanks to the usual suspects!I support and hope Lou Barletta defeats that turd Kanjorski!
No doubt Biden will (inadvertently) fan this local fire into a nationwide conflagration over Obamacare and Democrat senators and congressmen who didn't read the bill.
And just in time for the November election, too. A radical, politically activist nun emerges from under her rock.

I’m expecting a tsunami to hit DC in November. The liberal left will lose their collective minds. The people are sooooo angry they cannot wait to vote. Early voting here will be October 18-30. I hope this election scares the hell out of Obama.............................

I just sent a copy of this to the WNEP 16 News Dept. in Wilkes Barre/Scranton with a Good Job Comment.... and a comment that they needed a follow up story based upon the facts in the article.
Someone should do the same for the other stations in the area.
