The Europeans are being targeted for the same reason the Americans are: for being "infidels" and enemies of Islam and for the Western values they represent. They are being targeted because of their failure to transform into Islamic countries. Those who think that solving the Israeli-Arab conflict will undermine Al-Qaeda and its allies do not know what they are talking about.
Bin Laden did NOT even mention the Palestinians til well after 9-11 when it became useful!
What else CAN they do? Based on the evidence they seem to love only two things, hating people and blowing stuff up. All this crap about their contributions amounts to zilch from boobs like Obama who think by kissing Muslim (hairy) butt they'll like us. They are good only at hate and messy explosions, that's all.

They want to destroy any non-Islamic nation, for starters. But more than that it is intolerable to them that any non-Muslim should be successful.
The overwhelming fact that Western Civilization and Judeo-Christian religious belief system, together has resulted in a wildly successful Europe and North America, all the while the Islamic part of the world has been unable to keep up technologically and materially, generally infuriates Muslims. So they want to destroy us.
The Israeli-Arab conflict has nothing to do with their angst.
Muslims are horrified at the comparisons between their lack of scientific advances compared to the rest of the world.
I suggest a dose of salts and maybe some lead.

Because they can. Also political correctness and rules of engagement prevent formerly adept nations from bombing them into oblivion.
Perhaps its the jihadi narcissist way of showing their expertise with swords, stones, box cutters, underwear and shoe bombs? Nations thus far are reacting with submission and welcoming them to get a strong foothold into cities and nations worldwide, and using international legal systems against the cities and nations to further their conquering of the world.
Europe is the low hanging fruit. Don’t worry, they’ll get to everyone else eventually.

Terrorism is a tactic. They do it because it seems to be so effective towards their desired end, which is to bend our will to theirs. In a sense I think it is true that they do it because we don’t know why they do it. If we responded IN KIND, with the slightest fraction of our capability, it would take all the fun out of it for them, but this is anathema to us.
