I think Rush got bamboozled.

agree....
& RUSH did say,"They took over 11+ months to produce and show the episode"...more than enough time to mold (editorialized / format) their own message.

I think Rush got bamboozled. He didn’t come off good on this show at all.

No, the episode was a satire aimed at ideologues. It was effective too, because both conservative and liberal ideologues are proclaiming that "their side" got the short end of the deal.

“Pelosi with a crack pipe in her mouth”

LOL, that was the best!

I think Rush got bamboozled. He didn’t come off good on this show at all. Made to look like an anti-Semitic buffon.

I liked part of it (Pelosi with the crack pipe, Rush kicking butt with the "multi-racial gang" and saving Brian, and Rush turning into an eagle in the end), but the "Jew" comments and his comment about "brain-dead women on expensive life-support machines" (obvious reference to Terri Schiavo) were disturbing. I'm surprised Rush agreed to voice those words...

I thought it was mostly pretty funny. Rush's voice was wonderful. He's got a good sense of humor and he can poke fun at himself.

I also did not like the Jew line; Rush is a Judeophile so that really did not fit. It's those on the Left who are anti-Israel and all. (Still, that one episode years ago where Peter sings that song "I Need A Jew" makes my whole Jewish household laugh til tears.)

Still, Rush turning into the eagle was great. And he was drawn well - he was a handsome cartoon man!

Rush is not on “Family Guy”. A cartoon that looks like him is. It’s a character not Rush.

How far did you get into the episode before someone told you?

I watch Family Guy all the time, but this one wasn't particularly humorous or entertaining. I thought they were going to have fun with conservative ideas. Instead, it came across as mean-spirited. But what can you expect from a bunch of obnoxious liberals that can't stand conservatives.

Rush looked and sounded like every caricature Libtards make conservatives out to be.

He was a dolt for doing this. THERE, I SAID IT!

I’ve seen nearly all the Family Guy episodes, and had many good laughs from it, but it’s not as funny as it used to be. This episode too was below average. Also, not surprisingly, the satire was aimed more at the right than the left.

I wish Rush wouldn’t let himself be used for this sort of thing. I think he’s guilty sometimes of doing what he criticizes the Rhinos for, collaborating with the left so as to be accepted as a good guy (well, not really accepted but recognized as a political opponent worthy of respect, as Brian apparently sees him at the end of the show). I think it’s flattering to his ego to see himself become an important figure not just in politics but in pop culture as well. [Let me add, that though I’m criticizing Rush for this, he has been my favorite talk show host since his days in Sacramento, and I still like him.]

The political satire on the Family Guy show consists mostly of brief and superficial references, but the more telling jabs — about issues that are still current — are overwhelmingly directed at the right. Showing Clinton naked (and as a more or less likable slob) doesn’t do the Democrats much harm at this late date. Also showing Pelosi with a crack pipe doesn’t hurt as much as having Rush himself — with his own voice — supposedly accept the show’s distortions of his views and those of Republicans.

When South Park does political satire, it hits harder, but what I like about it is that along with the attacks on the right it does occasionally have episodes in which it hits the left really hard. If Family Guy has ever done an episode that hurt the left more than the right, I’m not aware of it. This one certainly didn’t.

Wow, strong words coming from a fellow El Rushbo fan! Although the show had its funny moments, I have to agree, though... that thought was running through my mind during most of the show, especially during the second half of it: WHY did Rush allow himself get suckered into appearing on any Seth MacFarlane project??

It's 12 noon... I'm very curious to hear what Rush has to say about his Family Guy appearance. Just hope we don't have to endure a full half hour of it, including more "commentary" on the Haney Project and NFL... ;-)

I watched the episode and thought it was, for the most part, rather unfunny.

However, I’m confused as to why Limbaugh even considered working with someone like McFarlane.

It seemed as if his purpose was to validate every stereotype that the Left has for Conservatives. And his hit on Schiavo was particularly tasteless. If it was satire, it was completely lost on me.

Someone once said that Limbaugh was a masterful entertainer and being a Conservative was just his “schtick.” You have a ready-made partisan audience that needs very little encouragement to tune in. All you need to do is to package it in a glossy wrapper.

He seems to have proven that theory correct.

Yes it did but I think Rush was trying to break through the "conservative" glass ceiling in Hollyweird. Epic Fail! He ignored the timing so close to the elections and reinforced conservative stereotypes. I was very disappointed.

The anti-Jew part was particularly stupid. The joke made no sense.

I’ll stick to South Park.

So you don’t like Jewish jokes but you still like South Park?

Ever heard of a big boned boy named Eric Cartman?

I just said the joke made no sense. Mostly because the real life Rush Limbaugh is extremely pro-Israel.

Cartman is a fictional character who is never presented as the voice of reason (unlike Stan or Kyle).
