He is either loyal to a fault to his fellow sitting Senators, or truely believes that none of these Tea Party candidates can actually win in the general.

Cornyn's job is to get Republicans elected to the Senate. O'Donnell's win means it is virtually certain that this seat will be won by the Democrat.

Now, I am with most on this forum in that I'm shedding no tears over Castle's loss - he probably would have been just as bad as a Democrat, and might well have pulled a Jim Jeffords and became a Democrat there was a 50-50 split.

But lets be realistic here - this may have been a victory for conservatives over moderate Republicans, but this was also a victory for the Democrats. O'Donnell has absolutely no chance of being elected Senator in Delaware. She was utterly trounced by Biden in 2008 - when Biden was a bit too busy to actively run for Senate. She's polling at similar numbers against the Democrats now, something like 50-35.

Cornyn probably won't spend much time or effort supporting O'Donnell going forward, I won't blame him. He should be concentrating on seats the GOP can win.

I just got off the phone with Cornyn’s office here in Texas, and was immediately told that Cornyn endorses O’Donnel when I mentioned the name. I told the staff member that if Cornyn wants to fight against what We the People want, we can and WILL replace him, too!!! I told her that he has to decide who he is representing -— We the People or the Washington elites. I am sure I got my message across to HER. Now, if she will only get ti to HIM!!!

McMahon has a proven pathological liar as an opponent, wasn’t the most conservative Republican in her primary (and unlike DE, didn’t have an opponent polling ahead of Blumenthal), has bazillions of dollars to spend and has had many more months to put those dollars to work against Blumenthal. McMahon hasn’t won anything yet, and we don’t get any partial representation out of her for a narrow loss. But, we never had anything to lose in CT anyway.

I will support Christine O’Donnell now. I hope I’m wrong and hope she pulls it out. I will not miss having to make excuses for Castle or listening to the leftist “newsmen” ask him why the GOP caucus won’t be more “sensible”, like him.

On the other hand, I would rather put up with those things and keep the filibuster intact until the new congress is seated – something Castle promised to do. I also think we could force him along in cloture against a filibuster with an Obamacare repeal in 2013. I otherwise hope we can somehow get to 60 when we throw Obama out in 2012.

I said this in another thread, but I’ll say it again. Did Democrats ram Obamacare down our throats with 60 Barbara Boxers? No, they did it on Landrieu, Lincoln and Nelson. So-called moderate Democrats who will be voted out in the next couple of cycles because they had no business getting elected in those states in the first place. Do you think if they had voting records like Obama they would have been elected in there? Answer: no.

Nominating Castle would have been a strategic gamble if you did the math on what it’s going to take to undo Obamacare. It’s not a great bet, but it is one that has a better chance of paying off than nominating O’Donnell, in my opinion. I really hope I’m wrong and she can somehow prevail in November, but the odds are very long. For all the excitement among the conservative base in DE (such as it is), many democrats and independents who otherwise would have stayed home or voted for Castle are going to turn out and vote against O’Donnell. Again, I hope she can pull it off, but I just don’t think it’s very likely.

Good letter. Forceful but polite.

Without the candidates that were inspired by the Tea Party activism, some of these more liberal states wouldn’t have had the Christine’s and the Brown’s running.

Without a good grass roots candidate with support the national committee would be heavily damned if the seat went without a candidate. They therefore got the State-wide successful liberal Republican congressman to drop his house seat and run for the Senate. I am sure they promised him lots of support in the General and relatedly in the Primary.

A Sea-Change begins with Rubio and Brown and after that a train wreck developes. The only thing that avoids this is the National Committee doing is search and promotion of candidates for lower offices to groom conservatives for the larger statewide contests. They better get busy with it or they will continue to have these train wrecks.

Great picture of Cornyn explaining if he has any integrity left at all.

Listen to KSEV Radio , (Houston) daily. Cornyn will NOT come on the talk show although asked frequently. That speaks volumes.
