A friend was in Iraq and I sent similiar stuff, plus fly paper for the tents (he said the flies were really bad there) and multiple copies of South Parks “Team America”. The movie became a cult favorite in his camp LOL.

When this same friend was in Bosnia I sent Jim Beam in the smaller plastic bottles, didn’t realize at the time that it was a) illegal to send hooch through the mail and b) that he was on a dry base LOL. He wanted it, so I sent it!

During GW 1 I sent a care package to "Any Marine". It was full of the 'recommended' stuff; hard candies, wet wipes, a whole bunch of canned food items that I knew wouldn't be available to them. You know stuff like chili, Chef Boy Ardee stuff like that.

I wrapped it all very carefully so it wouldn't get damaged......with centerfolds from certain mens magazines. I then wrapped that in old newspaper.

About 3 months later I got a letter from a Platoon Sgt thanking me for being so thoughtful. He said my 'wrapping paper' was being used as a form of currency among his Marines.

I still chuckle about that.

Vodka, with a little food coloring, in a Liserine/Mouthwash bottle.

Those troops in Saudi Arabia sure seem to get sent a lot of mouth wash! LOL!
