Health insurance costs to rise under health-care reform

Americans will have to brace for a big jump in spending, especially on health insurance, in 2014, when major parts of the reform law go into effect.

Health spending will jump 9.2 percent that year, according to the report from Medicare's Office of the Actuary published Thursday in the journal Health Affairs. But spending on private health insurance will bump up 12.8 percent that year as uninsured Americans gain coverage, much of it government-subsidized.

By 2019, the average American will spend $13,652 on health care, according to the report. Without reform, the average would be slightly lower: $13,387 per person. They now spend an average $8,389.

This is what they admit to, I bet the reality is much worse and they will try to control it by rationing care.

Thanks, Obama, Pelosi, Reid and all the Dems who voted for this. Just remember, there is NO such thing as a "moderate or conservative Democrat", they all voted in lockstep with Pelosi and Reid.

Vote out the Dems, repeal Obamacare!

This legislated Holocaust or genocide of the elderly, disabled, and whomever else Big Brother chooses to get rid of via their Death Panels “MUST” be repealed by the GOP majority in the House and Senate that is coming in November.

Went to my Family Practice doctor yesterday and asked about the free medical checkup for seniors on Medicare.

Nope, nada.

Recently, I had an operation. Prior to that, my doctors office had to check with Medicare to see if it was covered. Luckly it was, but the point is that they are already rationing.

It is amazing to see CSM print a story that conflicts with its previous support of Obamacare.

Health insurance costs are already going up for employers and September/October are the months that employees are given their new rates. These WILL go up and this WILL have an even further detrimental effect on dems in November.

Health Care reform has nothing at all to do with health care.

It is simply the replacement mechanism to create a vast new "trust" fund to steal from. Social Security and Medicare have run dry for the government.

I am continually amazed at the MSM’s ability to say one thing - how great Obamacare will be for example - while we on the Right are saying how awful it will be. Then when the awful result hits they act like no one ever even conceived of a bad result. It was completely unexpected.

Except, it was totally expected by everyone on the Right.

You can replace Obamacare with illegal immigration policy, foreign policy...whatever. It’s always the same. They cheerlead for the democrats, ignore the entire Right as racists, bigots or neanderthals. They impugn our intelligence, laugh at our foresight and then act shocked when we are right and they are wrong.

I feel like the entire Right is the mythical Cassandra - blessed to know and tell the future and cursed that no one believes her.
