Former Pittsburgh Steelers Raising Money For Flight 93 Memorial
Rocky Bleier Announces 40 For 40 Fundraising Dinner At Heinz Field

PITTSBURGH -- Former Pittsburgh Steeler Rocky Bleier unveiled plans for a fundraising dinner to benefit the Flight 93 National Memorial.
Bleier, who is the head of the 40 For 40 committee, announced the fundraiser Wednesday afternoon, less than two weeks before the ninth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

The committee includes 40 former Pittsburgh Steelers that are teaming up with the National Park Foundation to pay tribute to the 40 courageous passengers and crew members on the that flight.
What memorials are is a reminder of the stories that need to be told about those they represent, said Bleier. Not only the 40 stories of the families and the men and women that were on that flight, but the stories of all who are involved in 9/11.
The benefit dinner is set for November 17.
All proceeds will go towards the memorial in Shanksville that is expected to be ready for dedication next year, on the tenth anniversary of the attacks.

Do you think there’s a coincidence in the design?
None more than the open circle on the memorial I posted above and others I have seen that are inspired by the broken circle of the family theme.
Also, those who clim this thing points to Mecca are full of it and rely too much on their cute little GPS devices to know where north would be or how to use a lensatic compass. The opening faces more to the Alamo than it ever gets close to pointing to Mecca which would be to the south side of east.
I guess that if someone would want to circunvent the planet several times from the design trajectory, they would eventually get to an intersection with Mecca but that would make about as much sense as the old joke where a stoned hippy stumbles up and asks you for directions and goes the opposite way. You point out his error and he say, Hey man, the earth is round, I’ll eventually get there.
Here is a link to the design from the National Parks Service. What outrages me is that it won’t be complete until after 2014. The actual projected date is unknown because the giant chime tower is to be completed sometime after that.
