I’m actually quite happy with my small post office but I would cut it back from two full time and two part time employees to the two full time positions.

There are less than 200 PO boxes to fill so I would have both workers there at 6AM to sort and when that was done, one would go out to deliver on the rural route.

I would also replace the two gossipy retirement age women with recent veterans.

Here is how I would do it. Those boxes would be turned into a NCDBU (Non city delivery box unit). They'd be added to an existing rural carrier's route.

ALL the employees would be offered the option of early retirement or a job 75 miles away!

Then, you could buy "stamps by mail", etc. All the retail services you need from USPS are available from rural carriers.
