BRENTWOOD – Kristin Ruggiero will spend 7 to 14 years in state prison for what police say was part of a years-long ploy to use the criminal justice system against her ex-husband, who was thrown in jail and nearly lost his career during a bitter divorce.

A jury found that Kristin Ruggiero registered a disposable cell phone under her ex-husband's name and sent herself a dozen threatening and suicidal text messages. She then reported to East Kingston police in May 2008 that her ex-husband had violated bail conditions tied to a criminal threatening case, which police learned was also fabricated by the 34-year-old mother.

While Jeffrey Ruggiero was being investigated, his ex-wife called him at all hours and taunted him over the phone, according to court testimony.
"She mocked him. She laughed at him. (She said) 'I took all your money, I took your daughter and now I am going to take your career'," Assistant County Attorney Jerome Blanchard said in court yesterday.

Yes, and I wonder just how many have been victimized by these “courts” . There must be a lot, if there is no requirement for evidence, just one person’s bare word.
This crap happens all the time here in MA, men/dads here have no rights, the police/courts take the word of the crazed woman over the word and witnessess for the guy, unfreakinbelievable.
From what I see, shes guilty.
She lost this one, but one wonders why she tried this stunt. Maybe it’s because the court system is stacked against the male and she expected to win, with just a little teary eyed sobbing here and there.
I just hope that the dad gets their little girl and the mother NEVER sees her alone.

I hope this case gets enough media attention that other vengeful spouses take warning...But then, the writer of the article was kind enough to show that where Ruggiero went wrong was to try to create CRIMINAL charges-if she’d just stuck to lying in family court, she’d have got away with her plot.

OMG. If that’s true, then I hope she NEVER sees the light of day! If true, this woman is a sociopath (NOT just a vengeful spouse, as I thought) and who knows what she is capable of? Here’s hoping she serves the full 14, and gets hammered on the new charges! What a monster. False DSS allegations=pure evil IMO.

Actually, I think it was a man, Dave, who said SHE was HIS sister. She does sound like a true sociopath. I hate that I can’t figure out what state this is in. Is this Massachusettes or where?
