Can an immigrant who resides legally in the U.S. on a work visa but who voted illegally in a presidential election year still become a naturalized U.S. citizen?
Yes, actually. Especially if the Department of Homeland Security sends a letter instructing him to request removal from the voter rolls.
That happened this summer in Putnam County, Tenn., where County Administrator of Elections Debbie Steidl says an immigrant who illegally registered to vote and then voted in 2004 is now seeking to become a U.S. citizen.
Steidl says the man gave her a form letter from the DHS instructing him to:
"Submit evidence that you have been removed from the roll of registered voters. This can be accomplished by contacting your local election commission where you registered and voted. Submit a letter of explanation of why you registered to vote, and where you registered to vote, when you discovered that you were not a United States Citizen."
Steidl provided FoxNews.com with a copy of the letter, with the man's name and address redacted. Click here to see the letter.

Also, the only way this guy got a social security number, is by stealing it.
Apparently, DHS thinks this 'immigrant' more deserving than the decent law-abiding legal immigrants. Grrrr.
Sure, but abiding by our laws is politically incorrect at the moment...
outrage
DHS THINKS THE ILLEGAL IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN ANY US CITIZEN. THEY SEE THEM AS DEMOCRAT VOTERS.
Answer: Only if he voted democrat
I knew an illegal alien who went to the DMV office in Calfornia and applied for a drivers license. He told the DMV clerk that he did not have a Social Security number. The DMV clerk told the illegal to go to Social Security and get a Social Security card that says “Not for Employment Purposes” on it. The illegal got the S.S. card and S.S. number. He got his California drivers license which was later suspended for drunk driving. I forgot to ask him if he was registerd to vote. He now lives in Tijuana. I swear this is a true story.
they want them to vote.
If this is done our Leaders are morally bankrupt and no longer lead us by the Consent of the Governed. Rule of Law is meaningless, and we are now in a lawless society.
yes they are morally bankrupt
***Also, the only way this guy got a social security number, is by stealing it.***
Not so....LEGAL immigrants (with green cards) are required to obtain SS numbers in order to work.
They want them to vote only if they promise to vote Democrat.
If they vote Republican they get deported.
From the previous report (see the video link), the guy was an illegal immigrant. You are correct that legal immigrants get SSNs, but my understanding is the one in question is illegal.
Hmmm, reading through the FoxNews story, it sounds like he’s here legally but the video indicates otherwise. Wonder which one is correct. Regardless, IMO, s/he blew their chances by knowingly committing voter fraud.
No vote for a Democrat is “illegal”.
One of the dirty little secrets is that large numbers of illegal aliens vote.
For years pro-illegal groups like La Raza, Casa de Maryland, ACORN and local democrat organizations have been registering illegals. All they have to do is “X” the boxes at the top of the registration form that they are a US citizen and reside in the precinct they will vote in.
No further checks are made.
Don’t believe it? Next time you see one of those voter registration booths at the library or mall try to register. No one will ask for your proof of citizenship.
Democrats facilitate it; Republican office holders know it but are afraid of being labelled racist if they bring it up. Any attempt to fix it in state legislatures is fought by democrats and threatened by the ACLU.
Illegal alien votes have already swung elections in California (Sanchez over Dornan) Virginia (Webb over Allen) and Minnesota (Frankin).
We reported on this on Aug 21: DHS Helping Illegal Alien Felon Who Voted Become a Citizen (video)
How often do illegals vote? How many known cases?
One question I have: Is the 'voter' and illegal immigrant or an illegal voter who is a legal immigrant?
There seems to be a conflict between the FoxNews report and the local news report.
