DeLay warns GOP: Don't underestimate Democrats this fall

Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Texas) said the Democratic Party's strong ground game could stave off midterm losses.

Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Texas) on Wednesday warned Republicans not to underestimate Democrats this fall.

DeLay, fresh off having the Justice Department drop a federal investigation against him, said GOP wins in the midterm elections aren't "a given" due to the strength of the grassroots infrastructure Democrats built in 2006 and 2008.

"Over the last ten years, the Democrats, particularly the Democrats in the House, have put together one of the most powerful grassroots coalitions that I've ever seen," DeLay said during an appearance on Fox News. "So it's not a given that the Republicans are going to win all these seats this year, because the Democrats have had a grassroots organization to help stave off a lot of their losses."

DeLay was a top campaign strategist for Republicans during his time in office. He helped build up the GOP's infrastructure through a prolific fundraising machine and close alliances with grassroots conservative groups.

"powerful grassroots(Dem)coalitions" unions/blacks/illegals/jews/homeless/welfare/felons/teachers/Hollywood...and the Dems have that huge slush money fund in the hands of pay czar Fineberg...Delay is right to warn not to take Nov for granted.

Never be overconfident - particularly when your opponents are well known crooks

DeLay is wrong. The grassroots coalition that fueled the Dem's victories in 2006 and 2008 were largely made up of blue-collar and middle-class whites who were tired of the wars and the hypocrisy of Republicans on spending.

Blacks traditionally don't vote as much in the mid-terms, and all of the Dem candidates are running away from Obama as fast as they can. That means the Dems will have their usual left-wing kook groups, but they will be out in names only. The ordinary people behind them will be non-existent.

Delay is right. DEMS are cheating more everyday. No Electoral College, UNIONS, Illegals voting, felons voting, Rest Home votes, on and on they are going to get every crap vote they can get.

We cannot afford to take republican gains for granted.
The democrats are going to go all out to hang on to
power, and we KNOW this means every shady trick in the
book!!!
We cannot rest, we cannot react, we must make them
run outside the loop, so they will have to react to
OUR moves. If we continue to stand up as Americans
we WILL make them stumble!

Delay is right about this.

DeLay didn't mention this, you did.
DeLay is specifically talking about the GOTV efforts (i.e. Organizing for America, unions going door-to-door) for the Dems, which simply ISN'T GOING TO HAPPEN.

The white independents and blue-collar voters are voting for Republicans.

I’d be just as worried about the massive electoral fraud which is sure to take place and start making plans to deal with it and counter it.

We cannot afford to take republican gains for granted.

But we're not though. DeLay is identifying a problem that does not exist. The base people of the Democratic Party are not going to show up in droves after being lied to by Obama and the Dems. Sure the factions, the leftist organizations that represent the Dems will be out, but they won't have the muscle behind them.

Motor voter is one of the biggest frauds ever perpetrated on the American Voting Public. It is a disgrace.
I am sure there a thousands of people registered at more than one location. The State Governments cannot keep up with the demand for registration. I have been voting since I am 21 and they asked me if I wanted to register to vote. They gave me the option to register in English or Spanish. Freakin amazing!!!!

DeLay is both right and wrong. Don’t underestimate the sleazy sonsabitches, but they have done serious harm to their base. In fact, through the lies they built it with, they may have essentially, destroyed it.

Still....vigilance!

Its not the number of votes that are cast that counts ...
its who counts the votes.

So, count the number of Dem Sec. of State people in all the states and I can easly see mass vote fraud. The S.O.S will delay and fight any repub win aka. Al Franken style.

In a NYT recent article, ‘A Welfare Check and a Voter Card’:
“When advocacy groups sued Ohio and Missouri to force their public assistance offices into complying, huge groups of new voters surged onto the rolls — more than 100,000 in Ohio, and more than 200,000 in Missouri. Nationwide enforcement by the Justice Department could add millions more. The more people who have access to the ballot, the better the country will be.”

Got that? “Millions”. The dems offer largess from the treasury. Compared to that, why should they take what the Republicans offer?
We’re so screwed!
