Keep in mind I try to keep my receiver open. We are souls that have an independent mind. God gave you that. The Battle that ensues is your basic character and that is what will be judged. Yes, you asked for that opportunity.
I agree we volunteered to come to this mortal world via our rebellion (each, individually) against God. And the purpose of life is to rectify that rebellion and remember that He is our Lord.
Voluntarily surrendering to Him in loving obedience is the best use of our free will; everything else leads to suffering of the worst kind.
