Hubby and I live in Georgia and both have concealed carry permits. We always take at least one gun on road trips. Too many couples have been murdered in our vicinity. One nice elderly couple was hiking in the mountains and killed by what turned out to be a serial killer. Still, I half-jest that a person would have to be about two feet from me and have just announced, “I’m going to kill you” before I’d have the courage to pull the trigger. I have a feeling that shooting someone is not quite as easy as it sounds.
Adrenaline is an amazing thing. That, and the primitive human response to imminent death are powerful motivators. You may surprise yourself.
