I’d love to smack that smirk off of Franken’s face!
If there’s video footage there could be a devastating ad made of the various stabs in the heart of America intertwined with this joker acting like a jerk presiding over the Senate.
Maybe note that this is what we get from the felon vote.
bump
bump.
Even worse than what was previously reported, he was presiding over the senate chambers. Which ought to give the entire nation a severe case of hives..
Well the article does say he was gesticulating. But I’ll agree his face is permanently goofy looking.
I am not from Mn, can you clarify how 3rd party voters put Franken in office....I had not heard this previously.
Too bad it's not the good ol' days. McConnell would have rightfully beat the cr*p out of Franken with a cane; or better yet, challenged him to a duel.
Notice the non-apology apology?
“The Leader thought I was disrespectful while he was giving his speech on General Kagan,” Franken said in a statement to The Hill.”
See, the problem here is that the leader THOUGHT Franken was being disrespectful. Not a spine-intact “I was disrespectful...” but a shifty “The Leader THOUGHT I was disrespectful..” So I guess Franken was apologizing for the leader’s thoughts....
McConnell grew increasingly angry as Franken made fun of him before a crowded public gallery and Senate aides lining the chamber walls. Senate aides said they were shocked that Franken would flout the decorum of the chamber during such a solemn occasion... "This is not 'Saturday Night Live,' Al," McConnell said... "The Leader thought I was disrespectful while he was giving his speech on General Kagan," Franken said in a statement to The Hill. "He is entitled to give his speech with the presiding officer just listening respectfully. I went directly to his office after I was done presiding to apologize in person. He wasn't there, so I've sent him a handwritten note." Franken, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, voted for Kagan. Thirty-six Republicans, including McConnell, voted against her.Who TF is General Kagan, Al-hole?
Al is a piece of work. Glad McConnell is not letting him get away with turning the Senate into animal house.
From the Minneapolis Star & Tribune (a/k/a the “Star & Sickle”), “Senator Al Franken: Goodbye to the Class Clown”, 7/4/2009:
Preparing for his new role, one of the first people Franken sought out was Tamara Luzzatto, chief of staff for Hillary Clinton when she was in the Senate.
“A number of people have told me to study the Hillary model of being a senator,” Franken said after they met last February. “Put your head down and do the work.”
Franken appears determined to establish credibility as a serious lawmaker. No acerbic wit. No bombastic attacks on conservatives.
Goodbye Stuart Smalley, the goofy, mincing self-help guru from “Saturday Night Live.” Hello, “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.”
“We’re going to see a new Al Franken,” said analyst Steven Schier, who teaches politics at Carleton College. “Or at least the same Al Franken we’ve seen in recent months, an Al Franken on Valium, so to speak — very low-key.”
But not to worry, I’m sure the paper will have a scathing attack on him for his juvenile behavior. (/s)
I don’t know how you could tell when a face that ugly is “making faces” ...
:-)
The reason for his faces—his diaper was too tight.
McConnell should have called Franken out for his childish behavior.
But he is to much of a milquetoast—that’s why he could not even keep a filibuster against the most radical person evert to sit on the Supreme Court.
Soon, the people will have to provide the leadership the nation needs. The ruling elite have failed us.
If it wasn’t for low class
Franken would have no class.
If theres video footage there could be a devastating ad made of the various stabs in the heart of America intertwined with this joker acting like a jerk presiding over the Senate.
**************
Combine it with the interview in which BO was laughing about the US economic collapse.
My gosh, do they allow gesticulation right on the Senate floor, or from its dais?
How about the hairy palms?
Plus a phony and fraudulent recount in Minnesota under the aegis of a 'Rat SOS!!!
