Prayers for your mom and for you and her family.
You don’t live near each other?
Hoping for the best. God Bless
Prayers for your mom, BTLD. I understand. My parents are elderly as well.
I think you might need to rethink your post. BTLD is one of the good guys.
I am going through the same thing - been suspecting Mom has dementia for a while, now it’s official and she needs to move to “the city”. Hard for her to leave the acreage she’s lived on for 35 yrs, much less try to sell it.
Best of luck.
My thoughts exactly.
BTLD, I’m “an old hand” at it. If at all possible, bring the care to your mother in her home. Uprooting a 92-y/o parent is like uprooting a 92-y/o tree: too much insult/trauma to the body and likely life-shortening. Am honoring my parents’ wish to remain together & in their home, and it’s getting hard (89-y/o father, 82-y/o mother, both bedridden). However, it’s much cheaper (not inexpensive, though) than a nursing home to have health aides come to them. Have even managed to find a doctor, podiatrist, nurses, X-ray technician, phlebotomists, etc. who make house calls. Mother even had at-home chemo for ovarian cancer. Remodeled the master bath with no walls, dual floor drains, curtain for shower, grab bars. Widened doors and put in patio & walkway to get them out in a wheelchair. Brought in hospital beds & ceiling lift. Hard on the family, but ultimately a blessing.
Thanks....
My Dad set up a family trust years ago....
It’s handled. He made sure that Mom was taken care of, even if she couldn’t take care of herself.
A man of foresight.
We do.
