If you are pinged it is because I just spent today reading through posts and articles here typing up a pretty large ping list which due to my time constraints only includes a very small portion of the total number of actively posting FReepers. Before I began typing today, I knew that Free Republic was big, but I had no idea it was this big.
Free Republic is a massive site which includes an extensive archive of articles and posts dating back to the beginning.
It costs money for this site to stay open. Jim Robinson and John Robinson spend an incredible amount of their own personal time in front of their computers trying to keep Free Republic running.

Jim, have you made any attempt to tighten your belt here? Businesses are having to do it and I view Free Republic as a type of Business. Have you considered not letting people post photos (above a certain size)? Have you gone through and deleted old vanity posts? For example Theres a thread called “Unnggg” thats got what, over 2000 posts? Probably more. Why not delete threads like that? I bet a lot of people would be willing to donate once some cleaning is undertaken. Just my two cents. Hope this doesn’t come out rude.
I've tried several times this week to donate. When I go to the page, it will not accept my email address as valid (please put in valid email address). This address is one under which I have donated for years. It even appears as default before I type it in. I try deleting it and typing it in manually, still won't accept. Is this happening to anyone else?
