Rep. Etheridge, D-N.C., has a history of grabbing kids who ask questions

After Rep. Bob Etheridge, D-N.C., was caught on tape grabbing and shaking college kids who asked him a question on the street earlier this week, a North Carolina newspaper reports that this is not the first time Etheridge has done this sort of thing:

Brandon Leslie, who moved away seven years ago and is now an attorney in Oxford, Miss., said he had an encounter with the now seven-term Democratic congressman from Lillington almost 14 years ago.

In the fall of 1996, when Leslie was a senior at Pinecrest High School, he said he met Etheridge at a Pinecrest football game. Etheridge – then the state superintendent of public instruction – was challenging incumbent Republican David Funderburk for his congressional seat. At the time, Moore County was part of the 2nd District, which Etheridge now represents.

Ah, thugocracy. Could there be a system better suited to small-minded elitist wannabe revolutionaries?

He better be thankful he didn’t do that to my child. I’d give him a lesson in Southern manners he wouldn’t forget.

The kid should file criminal battery charges against Etheridge. That will look good on his resume in November. The video evidence should make getting a conviction a piece of cake. The thug needs to pay for his behavior.

Bob Etheridge has emerged as one of the Capitol's most authoritative voices for school construction, character education, early childhood development, youth safety, college aid and other education issues.

He and Alan Grayson need to be committed. Both are certifiably insane.

re: I’ll bet he beats his wife and kids too.

I would not be one bit surprised to find that to be true. Someone so lacking in impulse control that he grabs and hits a stranger who simply asks him a question surely does not restrain himself when it comes to his own family members.

Respect is a two way street and Etheridge deserves no respect ! What a pompous @$$ !

> “And that’s when he grabbed me by the shoulders, he shook me, and I’ll never forget it, he said, ‘Son, you need to learn to respect your elders,’” he said by phone on Wednesday. “I was just so taken aback, I think my jaw just dropped, and he walked off.”

I met a multi-term Democrat congressman at my school as a third-grader. I had heard my parents refer to him as an a*hole many times. So having a third-grader’s level of discretion, I told him, “My mommy thinks that you are an a*hole”. Got me a good whoopin’ back then (though I think she is kind of proud of me today)
