Barton nailed it. The shakedown of BP is going to have long term consequences—and they won’t just be economic. Our relationship with the UK will be affected. It wouldn’t surprise me that not too far down the road, the UK will announce their exit from Afghanistan.

I will lay down money that the WH knew of that “small people” comment before Hayword made it. That was an attempt by the administration to make BP more of a lightening rod. Obama’s regime is sinking hardcore here, so why not shift the media attention away from him with an orchestrated move?
