As criticism of the Obama administration's response to the massive oil spill in the Gulf, a new report claims the president was told by a government official in April just how much damage BP's exploded offshore rig would cause.

Days after the Deepwater Horizon rig blew up, Carol Browner, head of the White House's Office of Energy and Climate Change Policy, told Obama the explosion would result in a never-before-seen disaster, senior White House aides told The Daily Beast.

Browner said trying to cap a well a mile deep in the ocean was unprecedented and that oil would spew into the Gulf until a relief well could be drilled in August, the aides said.

To think that President Nixon was hounded from office for a petty, two-bit burglary by some underlings, yet Mr. Obama has admitted to felonies (Sestak, Romanoff, etc.), did nothing for four weeks about a national disaster, plays statistical games with the census, uses Air Force One like it’s his private Piper Cub, blames his predeccesor after a year and a half and on and on!!

Obama is more a latter day communist leader—Ceaucescu rather than Lenin. Which is to say, he is in it for the dacha in the country, the adulation, the food, the sycophants.... He knows he must pay lip service to the ideology, do the bidding of those who made him General Secretary (um, President), but he only has so much time for all that when there are so many golf courses to play and so little time.

The White House makes a big deal of deploying the Coast Guard to the rig within a day of the explosion, but that deployment likely made things worse. I heard the head of one of the big industrial fire fighting companies give a casual talk about the issue, and he said that the Coast Guard’s putting too much water on the Deepwater Horizon is what caused the rig to sink. As he said, everyone should know that putting too much water in a boat will make the boat sink. The sinking of the rig eliminated any chance that anyone would have had to control the oil leak.

There was a rumor floating around that this cap thing that BP is now doing is one of the first things they wanted to try to contain the spill but it was vetoed by the Dept. of Interior. The cap doesn’t seem to be all that effective but it’s important to note that if true, it’s been the Obama admin that has been calling the shots since the beginning. Given the imcompetence of the rest of his administration, it seems quite plausable that the rumor is true and it is likely responsible for the lion’s share of the mess.

I blame the oil on the beaches on the governors of the gulf states . If they had the foresight to build golf courses on the beaches and named them after obama, not a drop of oil would have been allowed to reach the beaches. It’s not obama’s fault that the governors didn’t build the golf courses. Maybe I should apply for a job at the White House ,my b.s. is getting better by the day!

And wouldn’t you “hound” Obama from office if he engaged or had anything to do with a “two-bit burglary by some underlings”? Nixon deserved it. Obama deserves far worse.

So the platform has a gush of natural gas that leaks onto the deck and the explosion set in motion the set of events which caused the platform to collapse into the Gulf. You would think that with the danger of such explosions, there would have been enough safety measures in effect that such an explosion was near impossible. That is, unless the explosion was the result of sabotage designed to end all offshore drilling.

I’ll bet that rig would have tipped over and sunk, after the derrik melted from the heat. -That’s what happened to the Piper Alpha, I believe.
