Saw Baby Saw
Would be hot to see the octopus come around now!
Cool video game.
Looks like the pipe was binding and the saw broke.
Back in action!
good stuff..thanks for the link!
Technology is amazing. I can sit here at my desk a thousand miles away and watch a live video feed from a mile underwater, as an ROV does a precision cutting job far better than I could ever do with my own two hands. Pretty remarkable stuff.
Wonder if they’d hire that saw out if I ever needed to build a deck...

I wonder how many saw blades they are going to go through cutting 2 foot thick pipe ?
Hope they have spares.......
What? no OSHA guards?
” I wonder how many saw blades they are going to go through cutting 2 foot thick pipe ? “
I think back on all of my experiences laying on my back in crawlspaces trying to hacksaw a 1” leaky pipe — this project has infinitely greater ‘degree-of-difficulty’.....
Enviro wackos will be filing a complaint for polluting the ocean with metal shavings.
Pipe is binding again on the sawblade. They need to put pressure on the backside of the pipe.
The men on these rigs are real men who solve real problems.
Wonder why this wasn’t the first choice?
They probably have to clean up the end before trying something new.
Looks like a giant Dremel tool.
Rotary saw doesn’t look to be right tool because of the binding and with difficulty of ROV keeping it aligned. First thought is that they need the cam to show straight on view as looking at an angle makes it double hard to get saw just right or maybe a laser saw guide. The diamond wire cutter would require some mighty fine flying to get a loose end around the pipes and reconnected to wire, but it wouldn’t bind. Something more along the line of a chainsaw would be better.
This looks like a grand opportunity for a hotdog machine shop to cook up nifty tools.
If this isn’t a hoax, where are the bubbles?
