Barbara Bush will speak out about the extreme disparity in health care between the world's rich and poor at a National Press Club luncheon on Wednesday, May 26 and describe what the non-profit she heads is doing to improve public health in underserved communities here and abroad.
Bush, 28, is the president of the Global Health Corps (www.ghcorps.org) , a group she helped found two years ago with input from her sister Jenna. The organization places recent college graduates in yearlong fellowships aimed at improving health care access. The first 22 fellows were assigned to 12 project sites in East Africa and the United States and this year the goal is to place 36 fellows. Global Health Corps partners include the Clinton HIV/AIDS Initiative, Dr. Paul Farmer's Partners in Health, Covenant House International and the Elizabeth Glazer Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
Health Care Tax Credit Nearly Impossible To Navigate

Washington, DC Ways and Means Ranking Republican Dave Camp (R-MI) and Health Subcommittee Ranking Member Wally Herger (R-CA) today released a new flow chart that shows Americas small businesses and their employees how to calculate the so-called small business health care tax credit the Democrats included in their massive health overhaul earlier this year.
As the navigation tool shows, employers face a dizzying array of questions and formulas before determining if they are eligible for some, all or none of this credit. In addition, the credit is limited to federal income tax liability, meaning that if a small business is losing money due to the economy, it might not be able to use the credit even if it successfully navigates the rules.

Some commentators argue that ObamaCare will destroy marriage for the middle class the same way that the Great Society welfare state destroyed the black family with financial incentives for staying single. Politically, the marriage penalty is also another Democratic kickback. This provision is designed to placate and cement the support of that 70 percent of unmarried women who voted for President Obama in the 2008 election. Greenberg Quinlan Rosner, a liberal firm that consults for clients such as Bill Clinton and John Kerry, said: Unmarried women represent one of the most reliable Democratic cohorts in the electorate ... leading the charge for fundamental change in health care. Many of these unmarried women are mothers (older women, rather than teenagers, currently drive the out-of-wedlock birth rates); women in their 20s had 60 percent of all babies born out of wedlock, and women over age 30 had another 17 percent. ObamaCare is a boondoggle for these older unmarried mothers.

If theres anything at all we know about the forthcoming tsunami of Obamacare, its that its going to completely wreck the finest medical care system in the world. Were starting to see the fallout already. Heres just a sample:
a. The I want therefore I deserve class turning up at doctors offices the day after the law was signed looking for their free care.
b. CBO numbers, available but ignored before the law was signed, now trickling out to tell us that the rationale of Obamacare making things less expensive and more efficient is basically, well . . . a lie. It's actually going to be massively more expensive than the administrations spin led us to believe.

"One surmises that the Democratic strategy is to rely on the American non-attention span, hoping that the people will just kind of forget the whole mess in time for November.

OKLAHOMA CITY - Legislation that would challenge the federalized health care system has been revived after the Oklahoma House of Representatives overrode Gov. Brad Henrys veto Tuesday.
Lawmakers intend to pass this legislation with or without the governors support, state Rep. Mike Ritze said. It has been disappointing to see both the attorney general and governor once again at odds with the will of Oklahomans, but they do not have the final say.
