Daily Mail ^ | 13th May 2010 | Fiona Macrae

His baby face and taut torso may make her the envy of her friends. But a toyboy husband could send a woman to an early grave. Research shows that women who tie the knot with younger men tend to die before their time. And the younger her beloved is, the harder it is on her health. Men, on the other hand appear to thrive when they marry someone younger. In fact, the more youthful his wife, the longer a man lives.

Maybe that is why Matt Wauer decided to upgrade to a 26 year old chick!

As the old punch line goes...

” Yes, I’m young and beautiful now but some day
I’ll be old and you would be surprised what a boy scout will do for a pocket knife with three blades and a corkscrew!”

You'll see a rich old man with a beautiful young wife, but you'll never see a poor old man with a beautiful young wife.

My guess is the "rich old men" can afford medicine and doctors that keep them alive longer. Well, that and the young arm candy.

If the Poor Old Man had the nickname, “The Human Tripod”, you would be wrong. LOL

I’ve never seen True Love expressed in such a photo before.

I wonder if I should post this to my Facebook page? There’s a woman on my Facebook friends list, whom I knew from jr. high school, who is always posting about cougars.

Depends on how much older the cougar is in age and more importantly in health and habits. High stress, booze binges and ciggies take a toll on those cougars too and can quickly move them into ‘old hag’ status.

Hi boop,

You wrote:

Regarding May/December relationships; when December was asked what they saw in May, the common response was youth, beauty and vitality. When May was asked what they saw in December, the common response was “Christmas”.

You'll see a rich old man with a beautiful young wife, but you'll never see a poor old man with a beautiful young wife.

One of my favorite old cartoons from Playboy was by an artist who signed his name "Sneyd" IIRC, who knew how to draw really scrumptious, voluptuous young babes.

Picture an upscale street with townhouses and high-end apartments on either side. (The scene reminds me of Oak street in Chicago, near the John Hancock Center.)

An incredibly constructed, yet tautly architected, provocatively dressed young sweetie with a dazzling smile is walking toward you on the sidewalk. On her arm is a decrepit, stooped, warty, half-squint-eyed old fellow, expensively dressed, hobbling along on a cane.

They've just passed two doormen, in the near background. One doorman says to the other, "The scary thing is, she's the one with the money."

In my case, I’m looking for more like a President’s Day-New Year’s Eve kind of relationship.

Told DH our relationship is bad for both of us. He just gave me the stink eye.

There MUST be some other factor not addressed in this “study”. I think the speculation about lifestyle is right on the mark.

Since the women in my family commonly live to their late 90s and I have no health problems, I figure the age difference sort of evens it out for us.
