Has the Constitutionality of that law been challenged? It certainly should be.

But it’s one more example where we can have what is supposedly a binding law (state Constitution) and in plain sight of everybody it can be broken by the legislature.

The Hawaii HDOH is not even pretending to follow their laws at this point - nor is the OIP, ombudsman, HI legislature, governor, attorney general, US attorney, or the department of public safety.

That should be problematic to everybody but a strict anarchist.

>Has the Constitutionality of that law been challenged? It certainly should be.

I’m trying to do that right now; though it seems to me that my best option is to violate 30-7-2.4, be charged with the petty misdemeanor, and present my case against the law in court. I’ve called around: police, state AG, state supreme court, State Bar Assn. Each of the listed referred me to another place.

>But it’s one more example where we can have what is supposedly a binding law (state Constitution) and in plain sight of everybody it can be broken by the legislature.

Indeed. It pisses me off because it’s a violation of the Law of Non-contradiction {in Logic the axiom that a statement cannot be simultaneously true and false}. It is my belief that such contradictions are being used to coerce people. I.E. making the charge “You’re breaking the law!” always true, in some manner of speaking.

It seems to me that a LOT of government is not even pretending to follow their own rules; but woe to you or I should we not follow their rules!

>That should be problematic to everybody but a strict anarchist.

Indeed, it’s even more problematic to me because of my training/education [computer programmer] as well a being an affront to rational thinking & philosophy.

It would also seem to be newsworthy... what is the motto, "it is the duty of a newspaper to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable"?
