Sarah Palin: Let’s shake it up in California! (Sarah endorses Carly Fiorina - Huh?)
Facebook ^ | Sarah Palin

Posted on 05/06/2010 12:29:51 PM PDT by FightforFreedomCA

I’d like to tell you about a Commonsense Conservative running for office in California this year. She grew up in a modest home with a school teacher dad, worked her way through several colleges, and then entered an arena where few women had tread. Through a combination of hard work, perseverance, and common sense, she proved the naysayers wrong to reach the top of her field, where she led with distinction – facing hard truths, making tough decisions, and showing real leadership through a rocky transition period. Where others had failed, her company had weathered the storm and settled on a stronger new foundation.

Her name is Carly Fiorina, and I’m proud to endorse her for U.S. Senate.

Carly is the Commonsense Conservative that California needs and our country could sure use in these trying times. Most importantly, she’s running for the right reasons. She has an understanding that is sorely lacking in D.C. She’s not a career politician. She’s a businesswoman who has run a major corporation. She knows how to really incentivize job creation. Her fiscal conservatism is rooted in real life experience. She knows that when government grows, the private sector shrinks under the burden of debt and deficits. We can trust Carly to do the right thing for America’s economy and to make the principled decisions she has throughout her professional career.

Please consider that Carly is the conservative who has the potential to beat California’s liberal senator, Barbara Boxer, in November. I’m a huge proponent of contested primaries, so I’m glad to see the contest in California’s GOP, but I support Carly as she fights through a tough primary against a liberal member of the GOP who seems to bear almost no difference to Boxer, one of the most leftwing members of the Senate. Carly needs our support in this crucial election year when we have a real chance of putting an end to the Pelosi/Reid “Big Government” agenda.

I hope you’ll join me in supporting Carly. Visit her website here, and follow her on Facebook and Twitter. Read up on her positions and plans to help get us on the right track.

California is still Reagan Country, and Carly promises her “Reagan Conservative” values will be put to good use for her state and for our great nation. Shaking it up in California is long overdue. Let’s help Carly do it!

It was a closed primary. Davis had nothing to do with it.

Let me change your words around a bit and see what you think....

Stupid! I am not in love with Sarah - I WILL vote for her - unless huge change - because I know what she did and she is capable of doing because of her rec ords! Obama has NONE!!! I knew it before the elections because I am part of tghe people who don/t vote for someone I don't know anything about - I vote for someone who already has been on the battlefield and EARN my vote with his/her credentials.

Some things you may not know about Sarah Palin:

What A Fisherman Says About Sarah Palin by Dewie Whetsell, Alaskan Fisherman

As posted in comments on Greta Van Susteren’s article referencing the MoveOn.org ad about Sarah Palin.

The last 45 of my 66 years I’ve spent in a commercial fishing town in Alaska. I understand Alaska politics but never understood national politics well until this last year. Here’s the breaking point: Neither side of the Palin controversy gets it. It’s not about persona, style, rhetoric, it’s about doing things. Even Palin supporters never mention the things that I’m about to mention here.

1- Democrats forget when Palin was the Darling of the Democrats, because as soon as Palin took the Governor’s office away from a fellow Republican and tough SOB, Frank Murkowski, she tore into the Republican’s “Corrupt Bastards Club” (CBC) and sent them packing. Many of them are now residing in State housing and wearing orange jump suits. The Democrats reacted by skipping around the yard, throwing confetti and singing “la la la la” (well, you know how they are). Name another governor in this country that has ever done anything similar. But while you’re thinking, I’ll continue.

2- Now with the CBC gone, there were fewer Alaskan politicians to protect the huge, giant oil companies here. So, she constructed and enacted a new system of splitting the oil profits called “ACES”. Exxon (the biggest corporation in the world) protested and Sarah told them “don’t let the door hit you in the stern on your way out.” They stayed, and Alaska residents went from being merely wealthy to being filthy rich. Of course the other huge international oil companies meekly fell in line. Again, give me the name of any other governor in the country that has done anything similar.

3- The other thing she did when she walked into the governor’s office is she got the list of State requests for federal funding for projects, known as “pork”. She went through the list, took 85% of them and placed them in the “when-hell-freezes-over” stack. She let locals know that if we need something built, we’ll pay for it ourselves. Maybe she figured she could use the money she got from selling the previous governor’s jet because it was extravagant. Maybe she could use the money she saved by dismissing the governor’s cook (remarking that she could cook for her own family), giving back the State vehicle issued to her, maintaining that she already had a car, and dismissing her State provided security force (never mentioning-I imagine-that she’s packing heat herself). I’m still waiting to hear the names of those other governors.

4- Now, even with her much-ridiculed “gosh and golly” mannerism, she also managed to put together a totally new approach to getting a natural gas pipeline built which will be the biggest private construction project in the history of North America. No one else could do it although they tried. If that doesn’t impress you, then you’re trying too hard to be unimpressed while watching her do things like this while baking up a batch of brownies with her other hand.

5- For 30 years, Exxon held a lease to do exploratory drilling at a place called Point Thompson. They made excuses the entire time why they couldn’t start drilling. In truth they were holding it like an investment. No governor for 30 years could make them get started. This summer, she told them she was revoking their lease and kicking them out. They protested and threatened court action. She shrugged and reminded them that she knew the way to the court house. Alaska won again.

6- President Obama wants the nation to be on 25% renewable resources for electricity by 2025. Sarah went to the legislature and submitted her plan for Alaska to be at 50% renewable by 2025. We are already at 25%. I can give you more specifics about things done, as opposed to style and persona . Everybody wants to be cool, sound cool, look cool. But that’s just a cover-up. I’m still waiting to hear from liberals the names of other governors who can match what mine has done in two and a half years. I won’t be holding my breath.

By the way, she was content to return to AK after the national election and go to work, but the haters wouldn’t let her. Now these adolescent screechers are obviously not scuba divers..

And no one ever told them what happens when you continually jab and pester a barracuda. Without warning, it will spin around and tear your face off. Shoulda known better.

I support Sarah Palin.

Look sweet cheeks, I haven’t “taken YOU to task” and you’ve shown enough defense to be drafted by the nfl. I made a couple of accurate observations about the political realities in your state based on the people that the electorate there vote into office and you jump down my friggin’ throat.

Buzz off.

I don’t worship anyone. That is for Obama supporters not me. She is just a person, a human being who makes mistakes and also does things I agree with and disagree with. Doesn’t mean I am going to come here and bash her. She has every right to support whoever she wants to. Many of the people she endorsed I was VERY happy with, a few not so happy with but at the end. I make my own decisions of who I vote for and who I don’t vote for

CARLY FIORINA IS NOT A RINO!!!!!

She is pro-life.

She believes in limited government and advocates cutting taxes and the budget.

She opposed Obamacare.

She favors the farmers in the Central Valley over the Delta Smelt.

She opposes legalization of drugs.

She opposes the closing of Gitmo.

She supports free trade.

She supports the death penalty.

She opposes amnesty for illegals.

In what possible way, other than as warped and desparate figment of Chuck DeVore's imagination, is Carly a RINO? Sarah endorsed her because of her positions on the issues, not in spite of them.

“Nobody is looking for perfection, most of us will be satisfied with not endorsing RINO’s.”

Weren’t you the one attacking many of us here for not supporting that rat f**k McCain?

That’s the main problem with DeVore, no one knows who the heck he is. Other then people here, who knows who Chuck DeVore is? Til I read his name on this forum I had never heard of the guy. How can someone win who doesn’t even have ONE TV Ad..I only see those annoying Whitman and Poizner ads

Sandy Koufax had some bad days. Michael Jordan didn’t make every game winning shot.

Everyone makes mistakes. Nobody is going to make a perfect call all of the time.

I contend that by endorsing McCain and Fiorina, it is a chess match against Steve Schmidt. She is trying to play on his turf. And put a stop to all of the leaks and personal attacks that kept coming out after the campaign.

I see the usual suspects from the “Sarah Palin is a stupid eff-ing c**t” crowd are here, just like at every Palin thread.

At the very least, it has given Bob J and his ilk some real purpose in their lives. Not really a a noble purpose, but a reason to get up every day nonetheless.

I wonder which group is actually larger now at FR the:

a.)”I hate Sarah Palin/Jim DeMint for President” crowd or the
b.)”Sarah Palin is a stupid c**t/Ron Paul for GOD” crowd.

It's gotta be close right now — we should really start a head count to see who is ahead.

Actually I think this can be played out both ways, it could help Fiorina or it could not help her. This is California after all, Sarah is popular here but not THAT popular. Now with her endorsement of Fiorina, people are going to start talking about DeVore, and maybe more people will learn more about him, because he doesn’t promote himself

It was a closed primary, but Davis ran ads in during the GOP primary season about Riordan flip-flopping on abortion in a successful attempt to get the conservative base to vote for the more beatable Simon. This was despite the fact that the gov. has no say in the abortion debate. Parental notification propositions are regularly defeated here and unlike the US Constitution, the CA Constitution has an express right to privacy.

So instead of having a governor like Riordan, who did a good job running LA, we got Davis.

“She is pro-life”

Maybe personally but she wouldn’t vote for a law banning abortion at the federal level, would she?

Look, Chuck DeVore is a good guy but his trending at 13% in the polls. People who trend at 13% in the primary polling do not make good General Election Candidates.

They lose statewide elections. I know you all want DeVore to win, but he can't, and he wont'. This is like the old McClintock statewide races: everyone knew that McClintock was best for the state, he was years ahead of his time. All of his warnings have come true with a vengeance. But he couldn't be elected in blue California.

Palin has made the wise choice; not the popular choice with the Base, but the choice that has the best chance of beating Babs.

Good for her.

Best,

Chris

Riordan at 73 was too old for a first-term Gov anyway.

You don’t know a damned thing about my state that the leftist media hasn’t spoon fed you. You’re not on the ground here. You don’t see the subterfuge perpetrated by the RP state leadership here. You don’t see the absence of funding for Conservative candidates. You don’t see the absence of other mans of support for in-state candidates or candidates for federal offices.

None the less, here you are playing the part of an expert on the dynamics of my state’s political condition. You in your infinite wisdom have determined that the state must be leftist because Conservatives don’t win elections here.

And you think I’m out of line. What a hoot.

She was a big figure in the McCain campaign. She was, because she was a RINO. What she says to get elected will be different than what she does.

Now, her buddy Juan, is also doing the same.

At least for the moment.
