Listen, in my original response, I meant to say that DeMint comes across as a (reputable) insurance salesman and not a used car salesman (that's Romney). It was literally a slip of the keyboard, based on my usual response to the Romneyites. I actually like DeMint, and could vote for him since I think he does have much integrity (even though he's got very close ties to Romney).

However, the point here is that DeMint's got the presence and charisma of an oak tree, and as a white male southern politician (like Barbour), he will have virtually NO chance against the Obama thug machine in a 2012 campaign. Race and gender are POTUS issues now, like it or not.

And do you really believe DeMint has the capacity to draw the same energetic crowds of GOP voters as Sarah Palin is doing, most notably in Louisville the other night, when 16,000 turned out to see her?

It just won't happen. Maybe in a perfect world, but not in ours.

With that said, I have no interest in brawling with you over this, so let's leave it alone.

Truce?

That’s a heck of a slip! LOL. I have no interest in warring with you or the palinistas. Though after 2010, things will surely warm up around here, as they always do. She won’t be my first choice unless it’s her against the RINOs. Nevertheless, she’s a conservative and I would get behind her if she wins the nomination.

As to her being the most popular now - big crowds and all - that has no bearing on me whatsoever. ANY conservative who is coherent, fearless, quick on his feet, and dedicated to scrapping the Obama agenda will crush the boy marxist, southern or not.
