You will also see there are plenty of alcoves and such in the SC Bldg where the perps could hide and lay in wait.

Thanks abb.
police logs detailing crimes and complaints reported in the French Quarter that night did not list the attack on the pair.

“I know the difference in questioning and throwing under the bus.”

Don’t you think we do as well? I assure you, I have no ‘dogs in this hunt’ either and am simply commenting on the circumstances and responses, or lack thereof. I live near Seattle (you probly figure that one out!)

The 8th district police station is in the next block or two, right? This reporter has the crime and courts beat for the TP, you’d think she might be a little more suspect of NOPD with all of her coverage so far. Tis not a good time for the force these days. 16 more days of Nagin and his Chief.

There’s gotta be some pics of the beatings on those

camera’s,,,

I read on one link that it took place at an iron gate

in that fence that surrounds the court house,,,

In this day and age those places have some really good

high-rez stuff,,,

Even I-20 is covered where it goes through here,,,

They can freeze-frame and zoom in on anybody on that road...

Note also that this is one of the most heavily traveled areas in the French Quarter, an area that street types don’t frequent. The Brennan family have quite a bit of clout in the town.

But also recall the time of the attack - about 10:30 pm - was near shift change, so likely all the cops were scarfing up coffee and donuts in the station house.

I’ve been thinking the same thing for quite a while.

He’s not constitutionally qualified.

And he’s not up to the job. He’s a fairly decent governor, but no way he should be POTUS.

Well, reporters report what their editors tell them to. And true, the NOPD is getting a lot of heat lately from the TP regarding the Katrina/Danziger Bridge murders. So maybe this front-page story will “encourage” the NOPD to take action.

But it took us all week to get the story to the front page of the TP. So that tells me they didn’t want to cover it at all. I’ve been emailing the editor (Jim Amoss) all week and beating him over the head.

To face reality, however, IF the perps were out-of-town “agitators,” they are long gone from the area. Likely some of the local kids who were protesting (IIRC, mostly UNO students) could be questioned and maybe they will tell.

But if they’re wannabe anarchists, they’ll lawyer up and clam up.

Just my thinking, which is of course subject to large error...

It does seem as if the Iron Rail bunch (Trust-afarians) glomed on to the “Keep Big Charity” hospital and UNO cuts protests. Seems all the videos from that bunch have been pulled and they are awfully quiet. Maybe Jim Letten’s office should take a little trip over to the Marigny.

Exactly what I called on Gov. Jindal to do Thursday.

"...it wasn't until Monday that a detective was assigned to investigate the incident -- in which Bautsch broke her leg and her boyfriend, Joseph Brown, broke his jaw."

Holy crap!

This young pair beat themselves against the concrete sidewalk and against some passerbies' boots!
Leg broken in five places, broken nose, broken jaw...

Either that or they were viciously attacked by...

Extraterrestrials.

This may be a good place to comment on the PC mother of the female victim. She is not only brainless, but a coward and a mother I would not wish on my worst enemy.

She is so terrified of "upsetting" the group responsible, she has done everything short of blaming her daughter of beating herself within an inch of her own life.

Uhm, she did manage to get Megyn and a guest pretty riled up about this.

"Your thoughts about him?"

Ultra smart, very engaging when you speak with him, a pretty darn good governor, and a staunch defender of the 2nd Amendment.

“Ultra smart, very engaging when you speak with him, a pretty darn good governor, and a staunch defender of the 2nd Amendment.”

OK. And you’re fine with him being behind the scenes about these anarchist turds that savaged his aide? Do you think that was a good move?

This is Jindals Huckabee free the felon moment. He may be a good Governor and a fine man , however , not to rise to the defense of a beating victim in his employ and demand an investigation by an out of state less corrupt law enforcement agency is a huge blunder . I and others will make certain this follows him . The state ( cough ) of LA can keep him...
