Whatever happened to “keep the government out of my body” stuff?

I am so sick of the tired argument that the government has to stay out of women’s bodies. Roe v Wade PUT the government into women’s bodies. There are consequences for all decisions we all make. If women decided to kill their child by coat hanger abortions, that was THEIR choice. The resulting death of a woman by making a terrible medical decision is NOT the responsibility of the government. Should we legislate the self-amputation of a women’s arm or leg, or breast because of cancer? No sane person would cut off a limb and expect to survive. The risks we take result in consequences. Legislating self-treatment is ludicrious. What we have permitted since 1972 in the name of “care” is a grave sin and a horrendous legal decision.
