Well, what you need is two views that are 90-degrees to each other and one of them can’t be in the same plane that the comet is traveling. In other words, you can’t have two shots at 90-degrees to each other if both are in the same plane as the orbital plane of the comet.
Basically, you could have one in the orbital plane and one shot at 90 degrees to the orbital plane, then you could tell if the comet is simply passing behind the sun or it’s going “dead-on” and hitting the sun. That’s basically what I was talking about.
From these shots, I can’t tell if the comet is simply passing behind the sun, or not... (I hope you see what I mean... :-) ...).
SOHO has now shut it down...A Million hits to many..:(
