Noose Ignites More Protests At UC San Diego A student who admits she hung it in the campus library has been suspended.

A UC San Diego student admitted Friday to hanging a rope noose from a campus library bookcase in an act that triggered more protests at a school already roiled by other recent racially charged incidents.
Angry students responded to the incident by storming and occupying the office of UC San Diego Chancellor Marye Anne Fox. The sit-in continued for about six hours Friday and ended without arrests, and a sympathy protest at UCLA lasted about an hour, officials said.
UC San Diego police confirmed that the student contacted them Friday morning and acknowledged responsibility for placing the noose the night before on a lamp fixture atop a seventh-floor bookcase in the campus' main library. Police did not release the woman's name or race or provide any information about a motive.
The incident was the latest in a series of events sparking racial tensions and concern at the San Diego campus. On Feb. 15, an off-campus party, described as a "Compton Cookout," mocked Black History Month, leading to large student protests. A few days later, a campus satirical group defended the party and used a derogatory term about blacks on a campus television show.
Fox said she suspended the student who hung the noose pending further investigation.
Under state law, hanging a noose, a symbol of racism and lynchings for many African Americans, if done with "intent to terrorize," is considered a misdemeanor that can bring up to a year in county jail and a $5,000 fine.

It might be argued that this law discriminates on the basis of speech-content and is hence unconstitutional. The Courts have held that just an "intent to terrorize" will not do.

I notice they failed to include the race. If the student had been white, the article would be screaming it in the headline
Arizona used hanging as punishment until:
Eva Dugan was tried, convicted, and sentenced to hang for the murder of a local farmer in 1926.
When the only woman to be hanged in Arizona received her punishment on 21 February 1930, misadjusted balance weights resulted in her decapitation as she dropped through the trap.
That prompted Arizona voters to select the lethal gas chamber as the official means of execution in 1933.
The women of Arizona are still greatly offended!!!!

Exactly. Several campus ‘hate speech crimes’ (thank you Orwell) have been done by minority groups to bring attention and create a ‘race consciousness.’ All most people read are the headline and first paragraphs from news stories so it works.
The racist attack by a gang of teenage blacks in Vallejo got ZERO national attention. That gets ignored; yet some party where nobody was injured is national news.

This is all stemming from what was initially reported as white fraternity boys hosting a party making fun of blacks, serving watermelon, etc.
It was a fake. The party was put on as a publicity stunt for a black rapper Jiggaboo Jones. A fake “hate crime” for media consumption. I won’t be surprised to learn any nooses being placed around the campus are likewise from this crowd.

HEADS UP! The ‘compton cookout’ is being used as a race baiting tool!

[Snip] Roger Hedgecock for exposed the truth about who organized the ‘Compton Cookout’....A Black man, an entertainer named Jiggaboo Jones, who is just a bit tired of the race baiting by the media and Jesse Jackson types with headlines such as this, “Outrage over ‘Compton Cookout’ at UCSD”.
My guess is that the nooses come from an independent agent who was “inspired” by the Compton Cookout before the general public knew it was a stunt. In my view, this would have been done to either ratchet up the temperature on campus or to create a “real” event to make up for the fact that the stunt was not real.
It must be frustrating being a lefty on a modern college campus. They’re obsessed with race and trying to fight Jim Crow every day. But they don’t have any racism to fight.
Remember that racism is the great sin and crime in the liberal religion and they are always on a hunt for it. How disappointing it must be when they can’t find it.
Note that this, again, is a college incident.
my buddy asked if a black girl put it up....something like that happened at Cal Poly years ago.
