GENERATION- ZERO..On Hannity tonight...

The current economic crisis is not a failure of capitalism, but a failure of culture. Generation Zero explores the cultural roots of the global financial meltdown - beginning with the narcissism of the 1960's, spreading like a virus through the self-indulgent 90's, and exploding across the world in the present economic cataclysm.

Generation Zero goes beneath the shallow media headlines and talking head sound bites to get to the source of today's economic nightmare. With a cutting edge style and haunting imagery, this must see documentary will change everything you thought you knew about Wall Street and Washington.

Featuring experts, authors, and pundits from across the political spectrum, Generation Zero exposes the little told story of how the mindset of the baby boomers sowed the seeds of economic disaster that will be reaped by coming generations

I just so happened to have caught this tonight too. It was good. I hope to watch the Generation Zero in its entirety when I find it.

After last night though, I had swore off watching Hannity or listening to him on the radio after all the middle finger wiping of fake tears off his face with Bob Beckel last night after Beckel’s childish antics the week before.

Here’s an article about our current state of affairs as it relates to generations, culture and most importantly, how history does repeat itself.

Interesting stuff...

KUDOS to Hannity for airing this—I especially loved that it started with Kanjorski talking about the “run on the market” back in September of 2008-—remember how McCain and the “Won” came off the campaign trail to go to Washington???? McCain looked like a deer in the headlights, President Bush looked totally scared and the “Won” looked amazingly unfazed.....then, I thought of the “Won’s” biggest donor, and how the British pound tanked years before through manipulation of the market across the pond. Granted, the Chi-coms have always thought it better to take us down economically, as opposed to militarily, so it could have been them.

I gotta get this DVD.....and share it with as many as I can.

The big difference between boomers and the WWII guys is that the Boomers mostly volunteered while the WWII guys were mostly draftees, the boomers never lost a major battle in Vietnam but the “Greatest Generation sold them and their nation down the river politically, as if that weren’t enough, while boomers were enlisting in the military the GGs were changing the immigrations laws to fill America with the third world and destroying America, the boomers couldn’t do anything about it until they got old enough in the 1980s to start resurrecting conservatism.

Oh no,not this crapola again! This slide towards socialism began long before the 60s. I am so tired of being blamed for this country’s problems just because of when I was born.

Which generation has been soaking up all the government goodies that are now about to run dry? Hint - it isn’t the Boomers.

To understand the arguments put forth by the “Generation Zero” documentary, it is crucial to distinguish between the actual Baby Boom Generation (born 1942-1954) vs. Generation Jones (1954-1965). GenJones was originally lumped in with the Boomers, but is now generally seen by experts as a separate generation. Understanding the differences between these two generations is central to comprehending this documentary.

The post-WWII demographic boom in births is one thing, the cultural generations born during that era is another. Generations are a function of the common formative experiences of its members, not the fertility rates of its parents. And most analysts now see generations as getting shorter (usually 10-15 years now), partly because of the acceleration of culture. Many experts now believe it breaks down more or less this way:

DEMOGRAPHIC boom in babies: 1946-1964
Baby Boom GENERATION: 1942-1953
Generation Jones: 1954-1965
Generation X: 1966-1978
Generation Y/Millennials: 1979-1993

Google Generation Jones, and you’ll see it’s gotten lots of media attention, and many top commentators from many top publications and networks (Washington Post, Time magazine, NBC, Newsweek, ABC, etc.) now specifically use this term. In fact, the Associated Press’ annual Trend Report chose the Rise of Generation Jones as the #1 trend of 2009. Here’s a page with a good overview of recent media interest in GenJones: http://generationjones.com/2009latest.html

Is there a direct link to the actual film so I can avoid Hannity?
