Errol Kerr, one-man Jamaican ski team

John Schumacher Sacramento Bee

The drive comes from deep inside, propelling Errol Kerr toward an Olympic moment that connects two countries, two parents.

Kerr, 23, lives with his ski-loving American mother, who helps him practice his starts in homemade gates at their house in Truckee [California].

His Jamaican father (emphasis added) died when Kerr was 12. So when Kerr straps on his skis for the Olympic ski cross event on Cypress Mountain in Vancouver, British Columbia, on Feb. 21, he'll compete for Jamaica and fulfill his dream. He is looking to create more than a sequel to the film "Cool Runnings."

"This is something I set out to do a long time ago," Kerr said recently. "This is the land of my father. This is in my DNA."

Kerr talks about feeding off the good vibes he gets from seeing Jamaicans embrace and help each other.

"I want to help them succeed," he said. "We're all going in debt right now trying to make this happen. God willing, we'll come away with a medal and people will get behind us and we'll be able to continue to do this for a number of years.

Oh yea baby, Olympian reason why Omama should be kicked out of office NOW.

This is the perfect illustration as to WHY someone with an Alien parent cannot ever be a Natural Born citizen.

Ping to the Constitutionalists. Spread the word.

But isn’t this a perfect example of why Obama should not be in the White House?? He is no different than Kerr.

It's an example of the Constitutional reason he shouldn't be in office.

Of the reasons he shouldn't be it office it is at the top of a long list that grows daily...

IOW, he couldn’t make the American team so chose the Jamaican team of one. Who said there isn’t an “I” in “team.”

No where else would Cool Runnings II be equated to the US presidency than on FR.

Bizarre story. (I read the full story at the link, no comments there yet.)

So he’s loyal to his FATHER’S country. Not America.

And most of America’s readership, of this generation, probably finds nothing to question about that.

Great find.

I wonder, if Usain Bolt decided to try his hand at speed skating, give him the best coaches to teach technique, could he dominate in that event?

Maybe. But it illustrates in real life terms just what it can mean when you are born to an Alien Father. You get to choose between loyalties, because you have TWO citizenship’s’ at birth....

That’s Obama. Two Citizenships.

This is what the founders were trying to prevent by inserting the Natural Born Citizenship clause for POTUS. To prevent a person from taking office that had more than one citizenship, that of the Untied States. And THIS is why. Its a perfect example.

Vattel, the founding fathers, and the natural born citizen requirement is a silly notion /freeper mental defective league

"If Obama is eligible to be President then so are the sons of Osama Bin Laden, Kim Jong Il and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad if they impregnate an American woman who gives birth on US soil. The very notion is obscene. Such a person might be a US citizen under current policy, but their citizenship is not natural born and they cannot be President and Commander In Chief of the US armed forces."-----Leo Donofrio. Is there any question why the founders put the Natural Born Citizen requirement clause in the Constitution?

Vattel in Bk 1 Sec 212, states the following.

§ 212. Citizens and natives.

The citizens are the members of the civil society; bound to this society by certain duties, and subject to its authority, they equally participate in its advantages. The natives, or natural-born citizens, are those born in the country, of parents who are citizens. As the society cannot exist and perpetuate itself otherwise than by the children of the citizens, those children naturally follow the condition of their fathers, and succeed to all their rights.

The society is supposed to desire this, in consequence of what it owes to its own preservation; and it is presumed, as matter of course, that each citizen, on entering into society, reserves to his children the right of becoming members of it.

The country of the fathers is therefore that of the children; and these become true citizens merely by their tacit consent. We shall soon see whether, on their coming to the years of discretion, they may renounce their right, and what they owe to the society in which they were born.

I say, that, in order to be of the country,it is necessary that a person be born of a father who is a citizen; for, if he is born there of a foreigner, it will be only the place of his birth, and not his country.

Um... I am not sure what your point with your post is here. You appear to be trying to knock it down while then turning around and supporting it.

Perhaps I am missing your point...
