Sen. Chuck Schumer's approval rating continues to slide
NY DAILY NEWS ^ | February 2nd 2010 | Elizabeth Benjamin

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand isn't the only one whose poll numbers are slipping.

Her political champion and mentor, Sen. Chuck Schumer, has seen his approval rating continue a downward slide.

He's dropped below the all-important 50% approval mark for the first time since 2001, according to a Marist Poll released Monday.

Forty-seven percent of New York voters statewide say Schumer is doing a "good" or "excellent" job, while 31% gave him a rating of "fair" and 17% say he's performing poorly.

In April 2001, 49% approved of the job Schumer was doing.

This isn't his all-time Marist low, however. That came in March 2000, when just 39% of voters statewide gave the senior senator good grades.

Schumer's decline is most precipitous in New York City, where his approval rating dropped from 57% to 51% in just two weeks.

"Sen. Schumer is not immune from the anti-incumbent sentiment among voters, but it would take a major effort to unseat him," said Marist pollster Lee Miringoff.

Yes. No democrat politician is safe now no matter what state he or she is in. That was the whole point of what happened in Massachusetts. All democrat races are open now and especially can be upset with good true conservative candidates who actuallu believe, live and follow true conservative ideas, ideals, values and principles! If Scott Brown can do it in a bluer than blue state, anybody can!

They did it to themselves too. Not only are Gillibrand and Schumer pushing a health care bill no sane person wants but amnesty, cap and tax, and card check. At some point even liberal states like NY and Massachusetts say enough is enough.

Kudlow once had a serious cocaine habit. Schumer the tumor is sure to bring it up.

But then, so did the Kenyan. Didn’t hurt him. =)

IMHO, he has to be one of the most hated rats in the whole country. Just about anyone who runs against him will get tons of money from all over besides the NRA, GOA, SAF, Right to Life groups, anti-queer marriage groups, etc.

What is up with these enlightened New Yorkers?

IMHO, they'e a highly overrated collection of single issue voters, e.g. feminazis, gays, Latinos, greens, etc.

True. Kudlow has been very open about his bad acts in the past and how he found redemption. He just did a piece directed at Tiger Woods saying admit your mistakes, it’s the only way to get better.

Schumer can bring up all he wants, as far as I’m concerned. Schumer’s record speaks for itself1

Schumer is a moron, a partisan hack.

He represents a group of democrats that are not only incompetent but also corrupt and hypocritical.

Schumer joins Dodd, Murtha, Reid, Pelosi, Rangel, Landrieu, Lincoln, Nelson and many others who are the most incompetent and corrupt people in government.

Never underestimate your enemy. He was reported to have received a score of 1600 on the old SAT. He was in large measure responsible for the rats taking over the Senate in 2006 by laying off on gun control and abortion rights and recruiting candidates who could win.

Me, too. I would donate time and money. I think he would make a great senator from NY, considering what is facing the nation right now. And he certainly would make a good spokesman on the tube.

Schumer’s a cartoon of grease, glam and greed. You’d think New York had better taste in men.

All America is rooting for that. Schumer must not only be removed but tried for treason for devaluing our currency and publicly dissing the Supreme Court. He should have spoken up on KSM trial sooner and force Obama to hold military trials in Gitmo.

The birth certificate/eligibility lawsuits must be aired on the broadcast media to show what the DNC and Obama have done to "fundamentally change (for the worse) the United States of America." Annual trillion dollar deficits will destroy our currency and economy All congressmen since 2000 are culpable as well.

It's time for the States to take back the powers of Federal Government except for National defense. The deficit-balloon is a National security issue.

Lets see if Chucky Schumer is still willing, with the help of his friends in the Hispanic Ku Klux Klan, to push Illegal Alien Amnesty down America’s throats.....

With his poll numbers slipping.....doubt that Schumer will still try to push Illegal Alien Amnesty. He will definitely lose re-election if he tries that
