A poll conducted by the Merriman River Group (MRG) and InsideMedford.com indicates that Scott Brown leads Martha Coakley 50.8% 41.2% in the contest to fill the seat of the late Senator Ted Kennedy. Liberty Party candidate Joe Kennedy pulls in just 1.8% support, while 6.2% of voters are still not sure.
Brown and Coakley both have most of their supporters locked in. 98% of both candidates supporters say they are definitely or probably going to vote for their candidate. In contrast, 22% of Kennedys supporters are just leaning toward him, suggesting that Brown and Coakley may both want to take aim at swaying those voters.
Not surprisingly, nearly all of Coakleys supporters approve of President Obamas job performance, while three-quarters of Browns supporters disapprove. Coakley may see a glimmer of hope in the fact that more than two-thirds of undecided voters approve of the presidents job performance while only 6% disapprove, especially in light of the presidents swing through the state to campaign for her later today.
47% of Browns supporters say that taxes, jobs, and the economy represent the most important issue to them in this race, while half of Coakleys supporters say that healthcare reform is most important to them. Undecided voters are nearly evenly split between the two issues40% say theyre most concerned with taxes, jobs, and the economy with 37% saying that healthcare reform that most concerns them. For Coakley to have a chance, she needs to convince voters that the Democratic partys agenda for the economy is the right one, and she needs to do it fast, said MRGs executive director, Matt Fitch.
The recent dust-up between the candidates over abortion laws seems to have had minimal impact on the race. Only 8% of Browns supporters and 5% of Coakleys supporters say its the most important issue to them.
I bet they are really busy and doing a great job. I just donated again.
Everybody, come on! This is winnable. Brown can make history and this election can be an early win to save our Republic! Forward with Confidence!

Statewide Totals:
Democrats 36.95%
Republican 11.62%
Unenrolled 50.75%
I don't think it is that bad based on the official 10/15/08 numbers compared to a self identified expression of party affiliation now.
Looks like they polled about right based on those numbers.
I feel the same way! Thats how Franken ended up getting in there!
Still gotta count the votes.
Still gotta get past Eric Holder, ACORN, SEIU, etc.
Still gotta get past any SCOTUS challenges...I predict Clarence Thomas and Scalia will become and will be true patriots within the next 2 years and will be visible and audible in what they say and do...that is to make the US understand the purpose and importance of the Constitution...I believe instead of being quiet and only writing opinions...theyll instead break from tradition and be visible and audible...
Rembember, Rush makes crazy predictions...I aint Rush, but I think something will push real patriots like them over the edge, too.
“other vermin”?
SEIU; Planned Parenthood; AFL-CIO; Emily’s List; NEA; GLAAD........
Anyway we will know Tues. I wish Rassmussen Had a poll later than the last one(Polled 1-11 published 1-12) on this.
You Massachussetts folks need to stay vigilant! This is not over! Get out and vote!!!!!!! Don’t let Obamarx win!
Take quite a few to fill that seat.
All these political changes, hopefully, are for coming back to reality.
Buy fireworks.
If Brown wins, I’d like to see fireworks from coast to coast.

Obama-For-America is claiming they made 90,000 person-person contacts in Massachusetts through phone banking today...
YOUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK....
What’s that whirring sound I hear? Why it’s Kennedy spinning in his grave! (He he he he snort.)
Wow. Amazing Youtube video. 0bama lost control of the crowd for over two minutes, smiled nervously, stuttered, did not know what to say, and lost the confidence of the people behind him: The 0 in 0bama stands for zero leadership skills.
Agree, Coakley is probably up by 2, Brown needs a big Independent turnout to vote for him and Dems to stay home.
I tactfully asked him WHY he was going to vote for Brown and his answer was: Because of the healthcare bill Obama is trying to pass. I carefully agreed with him and reinforced the fact that Obama wants to gut Medicare/Medicaid by taking away 500 BILLION DOLLARS from the system and that if he adds 40 million people to the rolls, especially illegal aliens the health care system would collapse I told him that Brown is an honorable man and that he is totally opposed to the healthcare bill and would vote against it MY DAD AGREED! I was flabbergasted!
If my own father; a life-long Massachusetts FDR Democrat who has voted for EVERY Kennedy, Kerry/democrat to ever come down the pike, is going to vote for Scott Brown, a REPUBLICAN, BECAUSE OF HIS OPPOSITION TO Obama and his evil healthcare debacle then things are looking VERY promising for Scott Brown and we could all be in for an incredible victory on Tuesday. To this end I am fervently praying.
96% LEAD IS WHAT I WANT TO SEE.
