See I thought the popularity rise would be in throwing statues at politicians.

I’m sure Hillary would be willing to throw a lamp at his mug.

That would only improve Hillary's popularity!

I give the Italians credit. They told the EU that crosses would NOT be removed from Italian schools. Italy, Germany, Austria, Poland and a few others have fought against Islam for hundreds of years. They are smart enought not to elect Muslims.

"...several anti-Berlusconi groups gathered on Facbook and websites to turn him into a hero. One pro-Tartaglia site on Facebook attracted several thousand members."

Interior Minister Roberto Maroni said he is considering tougher limits on freedom of expression and pledged to crack down on social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook that “instigate” violence. in this case against the prime minister.

He has brought lawsuits against newspapers that reported on his extramarital affairs and the allegations that he used call girls.

His aids pass the blame onto Facebook; but I think Berlusconi needs more professional security provided by his people; perhaps then,"kooks" could not get so up close and personal.

The French hate Sylvio, but think Italians are wonderful.
The Italians like Sylvio, and think the French are boring and sad.
The French media is full demeaning reports on Berlusconi, it’s pathetic how they think they can rag on someone so popular with such impunity.
