Two Rochester police officers were shot late Thursday night on the city’s northwest side. Police have cordoned off a large part of the neighborhood surrounding Dewey and Pierpont, where the shootings took place. The officers were shot around 11:35 pm. One was hit in the arm, the other was struck in the leg. Both were taken to Strong Hospital for treatment according to Rural Metro. There is no word yet on the conditions of the officers. Stay with News 8 through the night as details continue to unfold.

That area has closer hospitals, but the trauma and gunshot expertise at Strong is superb. It is a teaching hospital linked to the University of Rochester.

That report is a little messed up.

It’s not Thursday yet and it’s also not 11:35 PM EST yet.

Was this a different incident?
