Yes. Ehrlich was a founder of the ZPG movement, and made an infamous bet with Julian Simon on the scarcity of resources. Simon won the bet.

According to this article, Holdren helped Ehrlich with data with which to support his bet. Holdren evidently was associated with the Club of Rome, another of the Mathusian groups that promote scary scenarios in the name of science.

Yeah.

Paul Ehrlich.

I caught that.

So let me take a break on this Turkey day and regale you all with MY story about scientific hoaxes and how my life was altered for freaking ever. I’m not proud of it but if my story averts any other simpletons from falling for this sort of thing I’ll suffer the mockery.

Tonight my daughter and my granddaughter are stopping by for Thanksgiving dinner.

My daughter.

My one

my ONLY

child.

yeah. Paul Ehrlich. I ever find that guy I’m gonna bop him in the face so hard I’ll knock him out.

Understand that I love my daughter and thank goodness Ehrlich allowe me her.

For I was a young, sweet, pretty liberal lass when this Ehrlich joke burst upon the scene. My Sociology professor sat cross-legged on his desk, I wrote a term paper in Philosophy called “Why I Am An Athiest”. I was cool. Just so cool. Cool like all college kids are cool. Cool enough to know more than those before more. Cool enough not to live the lies they lived.

I was a champion of ZPG....Ehrlich...yeah, Zero Population Growth.

For I would have one child, one child only, I would help save the planet.

Heh.

So today I have one child. I am envious of those who have more. How I wish I had more children, at least two, even three. What must that be like?

Again, I love my daughter and wouldn’t give her up for anything. She too would have loved a sister or brother. Being an only child did not suit her at all.

I can’t change it. I’m almost sixty years old. I’m bitter. But it was my doing I suppose.

I was just so damn cool.
