Climategate: White House Involvement in Scandal Will Make It Harder for MSM to Ignore
NewsBusters ^ | November 26, 2009 | P.J. Gladnick

Posted on 11/26/2009 5:28:16 AM PST by PJ-Comix

Yesterday Brian Williams delivered an NBC Nightly News report about President Obama attending the Copenhagen global warming summit. Guess what hot topic was left untouched? If you had guessed Climategate you would have been correct. Not only Williams but also the other TV networks, with the exception of FOX News, have completely ignored what is considered to be the biggest scientific scandal in history. However, new Climategate revelations made by the Canada Free Press about a White House connection to the scandal will soon make it much more difficult (and ridiculous) for the networks to ignore.

Canada Free Press editor Judi McLeod and Canadian climatologist Dr. Tim Ball reveal the involvement of White House Science Czar John Holdren (photo) in the Climategate Scandal. The picture presented of Holdren is not a pretty one:

Lift up a rock and another snake comes slithering out from the ongoing University of East Anglia Climate Research Unit (CRU) scandal, now riding as “Climategate”.

Obama Science Czar John Holdren is directly involved in CRU’s unfolding Climategate scandal. In fact, according to files released by a CEU hacker or whistleblower, Holdren is involved in what Canada Free Press (CFP) columnist Canadian climatologist Dr. Tim Ball terms “a truculent and nasty manner that provides a brief demonstration of his lack of understanding, commitment on faith and willingness to ridicule and bully people”.

Dear Phil,

Yeah, I had already seen the stuff from McIntyre. Tom Peterson sent it
to me. McIntyre has absolutely no understanding of climate science. He
doesn’t realize that, as the length of record increases and trend
confidence intervals decrease, even trivially small differences between
an individual observed trend and the multi-model average trend are
judged to be highly significant. These model-versus-observed trend
differences are, however, of no practical significance whatsoever - they
are well within the structural uncertainties of the observed MSU trends.

It would be great if Francis and Myles got McIntyre’s paper for review.
Also, I see that McIntyre has put email correspondence with me in the
Supporting Information of his paper. What a jerk!

I will write to Keith again. The Symposium wouldn’t be the same without
him. I think Tom would be quite disappointed.

Have fun in Switzerland!

With best regards,

Ben

Ben,
I’m at an extremes meeting in Riederalp - near Brig. I’m too
old to go skiing. I’ll go up the cable car to see the Aletsch Glacier
at some point - when the weather is good. Visibility is less than
200m at the moment.

It is good news that Rob can come. I’m still working on
Keith. It might be worth you sending him another email,
telling him what he’ll be missing if he doesn’t go. I think
Sarah will come, but I’ve not yet been in CRU when she has.

With free wifi in my room, I’ve just seen that M+M have
submitted a paper to IJC on your H2 statistic - using more
years, up to 2007. They have also found your PCMDI data -
laughing at the directory name - FOIA? Also they make up
statements saying you’ve done this following Obama’s
statement about openness in government! Anyway you’ll likely
get this for review, or poor Francis will. Best if both
Francis and Myles did this. If I get an email from Glenn I’ll
suggest this.

Also I see Pielke Snr has submitted a comment on Sherwood’s
work. He is a prat. He’s just had a response to a comment
piece that David Parker, Tom Peterson and I wrote on a paper
they had in 2007. Pielke wouldn’t understand independence if it
hit him in the face. Both papers in JGR online. Not worth you
reading them unless interested.

Cheers
Phil

IMO, Carol Browner's statements tell us what is likely to happen. No matter how much is exposed, no matter what percentage of the population is against it, the Dems are going ram "climate change" taxes and schemes up our butts as if we were turkeys for stuffing.

Maybe not the way you think. I don't think the senate is going to pass crap and trade, but the SCOTUS, in a mindless 5-4 vote, ruled that the EPA has to regulate CO2. They may think that will shift the blame.

An email from Michael Mann containing contents of an eMail from Holdren to him:

CRU Email - 1066337021.txt

************************EXCERPTS**************************

To: "Michael Mann" , "Tom Wigley"

From: "John P. Holdren"

Subject: Correspondence on Harvard Crimson coverage of Soon / Baliunas views on climate

Michael and Tom --

I'm forwarding for your entertainment an exchange that followed from my being quoted in the Harvard Crimson to the effect that you and your colleagues are right and my "Harvard" colleagues Soon and Baliunas are wrong about what the evidence shows concerning surface temperatures over the past millennium. The cover note to faculty and postdocs in a regular Wednesday breakfast discussion group on environmental science and public policy in Harvard's Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences is more or less self-explanatory.

Best regards,

John

From: "John P. Holdren"

Subject: For the EPS Wednesday breakfast group: Correspondence on Harvard Crimson coverage of Soon / Baliunas views on climate

Colleagues--
I append here an e-mail correspondence I have engaged in over the past few days trying
to educate a Soon/Baliunas supporter who originally wrote to me asking how I could think
that Soon and Baliunas are wrong and Mann et al. are right (a view attributed to me,
correctly, in the Harvard Crimson). This individual apparently runs a web site on which
he had been touting the Soon/Baliunas position.
While it is sometimes a mistake to get into these exchanges (because one's interlocutor
turns out to be ineducable and/or just looking for a quote to reproduce out of context
in an attempt to embarrass you), there was something about this guy's formulations that
made me think, at each round, that it might be worth responding. In the end, a couple
of colleagues with whom I have shared this exchange already have suggested that its
content would be of interest to others, and so I am sending it to our "environmental
science and policy breakfast" list for your entertainment and, possibly, future
breakfast discussion.
The items in the correspondence are arranged below in chronological order, so that it
can be read straight through, top to bottom.
Best,
John

but the SCOTUS, in a mindless 5-4 vote, ruled that the EPA has to regulate CO2.

You're right. I forgot about that piece of insanity.

The Constitution gives the SC no such authority to make that ruling. And it is unconstitutional for a non elected department to assume such "regulatory" power.

“A scandal will go unreported if someone cannot synthesize it down to he/she did this (obviously bad thing).”

That’s true. And my personal synthesis will now be “With scientists on both sides of the global warming fence, I choose to go with the ones that don’t lie.”

I note that some writers on Newsbusters, thinks this is a mountain in a mole hill. Of course, they would. Any news, facts, stats that upset their worship for the faux Messiah and his socialist pacifist agenda including climate, globall changes et al and the non-use of America’s huge energy supplies does not fit their a priori view that America is evil and should be changed; like Zimbabwe!

Government Obama controlled PRAVDA will only report to the American People what it is told to report and as long as the Democrats control the Government and feel that they can control the people with this false science they will.

Its all about power and control.

Wow. After reading that email from Holdren to Nick Schulz from October 13th, 2003 which Freeper I Got Rope displayed in post #94, I had only one impression: what an arrogant a-hole.

Basically, this is what Holdren says:

1.) Most proles cannot comprehend this and how to interpret it. I can. So I’m TELLING you Soon/Baliunas are destroyed by Mann’s work.

2.) Those ignorant dummies and fly-over America rubes who want to REALLY understand this complex issue (that is much bigger than their puny intellects can parse out) need to talk to someone who isn’t in the pocket of “big oil”. Like me.

3.) Soon and Baliunas are rank amateurs and their work can’t be taken seriously. Mann (of hockey stick fame, and at the CENTER of this controversy) is the accepted expert and the one who can explain all this. So people should just SIT DOWN, SHUT UP AND ACCEPT HIS WORK.

Harvard used to be the elite school where the smartest kids in the country tried to gain entry. Looks to me like Harvard just produces a bunch of idiot liberals without a lick of sense. I would be getting embarrassed if I were associated with Harvard. Some of their former students show absolutely no intellect whatsoever.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

I’ve been meaning to tell you something specific, from which I know you will all get a good and hearty Rolling LOL but I keep getting slightly sidetracked by all the great finds here on FR and at wattsup, etc..so sorry for the delay.

I don’t have the precise email id #s handy right now but I’m absolutely positive that if you typed,
northern hemisphere southern hemisphere
in the search box at
http://www.eastangliaemails.com/index.php

you’ll be picking plenty of tasty, low-hanging fruit!!!

You can use “NH” and “SH”, too though you may need to add the word “numbers” or “temperatures” .

‘Cuz you see...when the northern hemisphere numbers didn’t fit in w/ the snot-nosed elitist piggies belief, they tossed them.

And used the southern hemisphere numbers, instead.
Problem solved.
Piece of cake.

I’ll try to find the exact file #s to ease your search efforts...but don’t wait for me, ;) (a wink, I think)

Socialist sc*mbag Czar John Holdren was a Global COOLING Alarmist, before he was a Global Warming Hoaxer.

Why? It is all about theft of freedom and massive government control. Science and evidence of climate fraud are irrelevant to these criminals.
